Most men could not handle this but if he's not offered another HC job, what's wrong with it? I love Rex but he could use some mentoring in the finer aspects of coaching such as time management and we could use a strategic minded HC. If we pony up enough money, is it worth it? No need to condemn his DC ability since it is a fact he's one of the best.
Not a chance in hell he is going to take a demotion and stay on the same team.. He would be the laughing stock of all of his coaching peers... I could see him being a DC on a different team though.
He'll get a head coaching job elsewhere. Firing him would be a HUGE mistake and would be hired on another team in a heartbeat.
Rex has a TV gig waiting for him the minute he is relieved of his duties. That will probably hold him over until the next HC opportunity. That said, I can see a team like the Raiders who is not void of talent giving him their HC job.
There is no chance in hell he stays on this team. If he is canned he was screwed to no end. He was given a shitty roster for multiple years and was forced to make something out of shit. That's a royal fuck up and he should not be anywhere near this piece of shit franchise.
Zero chance. If Rex is fired, he will have his choice of probably 2/3rds of the league's DC positions. He could go pretty much anywhere he wants, he's not going to take a demotion to stay here. And he might even get a head coach offer.
Yep he will take Riggles place on the Fox pregame show. I miss Frank. Rob is not funny at all. Rex would kill it.
LOL! Seriously?!?! Take Rex out of the equation and insert ANYONE in this scenario......... you can't run a franchise like that, or most any business for that matter
It wouldn't be a mistake if David Shaw, Kevin Sumlin or Jim Harbaugh wanted to coach this team instead.
With all the showmanship Rex has demonstrated since being hired here, I can absolutely see him in the studio on Sundays doing defensive breakdowns and providing a laugh track. As a DC, he'd have his pick of jobs but I think as a HC, just like before he got the Jets job, teams would pause before hiring him based on his record here. There's a reason why teams didn't hire Rex before Woody took a flyer on him. His teams may run thru walls for him, but were unprepared at critical points. Too many times his teams shit the bed under the bright lights of national TV. He may have gotten to the AFCCG's his first two years, but he lost both games and in the second one, the team came out flat. On top of that, 6 years in his offenses still suck and he's yet to develop a Qb. There's a lot more to like about Rex the DC than there is Rex the HC. If anything, I can definetly see Rex the DC just like his twin bro Rob the DC. Honestly, I think Rex would be happiest just designing Defenses. Must be the Ryan in him.
Weren't the mods going to make a minimum post count to start a thread? What next--"Any chance Woody sells the Jets to Donald Trump?" "Any chance we can trade Vick for Megatron?" Oh wait, already had that one. _
