My pal just called me from Atlanta and told me that he heard on 680 The Fan John Clayton is reporting that the Jets are pretty much determined to trade an unnamed player and the 4th overall to move into #1. I scoured the internet to find something on this but was unable to find anything. I wonder who they feel is a MUST have at #1?
Leinart, from all rumors. It was also a rumor that the Texans were trying to bait the Saints into swapping with them by floating rumors. If we deal Abraham/#4 for #1, that puts a 1200 point value on Abraham, which happens to be the #12 pick in the draft.
Mangini and Mr.T are as tight lipped as are all GM's. Don't believe for a minute any trade reports coming out of Hofstra.
No way that happens. We would be the laughing stock of all sports franchises. I know Leinart would be the only player I'd move up to #1 to select. He seems ready to play right now.
Thanks for clearing that up LTJF. And champ is the current email ad for the Jetsies JETSSUCKINHEMPSTEAD@CANTPLAY.COM
That would blow, big time...Take ANOTHER GUY that probably isnt going to like getting hit, to replace the one we have now......Thats the one thing you know you're getting with Cutler, he's been hit....and hit.....and hit.... Leinarts next fierce pass rush will be his first.
That's a very shaky argument you are making. Penalize Leinart b/c he had a stud OL? Give me a break. And we know what we're getting with Cutler b/c he got hit a bunch at Vandy???? Yeah we know what we're getting- a guy with a terrible record in college that hasn't won anything.
Thats a fairly sound argument. Take a guy that has been just as Productive at his position,, with FAR lesser talent around him, against a similar, if not tougher level of competition.
Cutler should have big numbers comparable to Leinart b/c he was asked to do it all. Leinart was able to hand off to 2 first round draft picks so his numbers will reflect that. But as far as being in big games and being clutch, there is no comparison between the two. fyi- I am an SEC guy all the way, having went to UK. The talent in the SEC smokes the PAC-10, without a doubt. Cutler faced faster and bigger defenses than Leinart I will give you that one.
If we somehow managed the number one pick and didn't get Reggie Bush, that would be RIDICULOUS... This guy is a once in a decade talent... Highly drafted QBs have about a 1/3 chance of becoming a legit star... I think Reggie is almost surely the next LT...
THEY ARE NOT MOVING UP. If Mr. T and EM are dumb enough to telegraph that shit this early then we're screwed for the next 4 or 5 years anyway.
