NEW TOP 10 MOCK == 01. Texans - RB Reggie Bush, USC The Ultimate No Brainer == 02. Saints - DE Mario Williams, NC State Jets and Titans won't bite and the Saints won't trade down any further and lose Super Mario == 03. Titans - QB Matt Leinart, USC Norm Chow reunites with his former pupil == 04. Jets - TE Vernon "Duke" Davis, Maryland Having secured their QB {Matt Shaub}, Jets snatch the most freakish TE to come down the pike since Winslow1 == 05. Packers - QB Jay Cutler, Vanderbilt Pack tabs the kid who's been compared with Brett Favre and puts out the "FOR SALE" sign on Aaron Rodgers == 06. 49ers - LB AJ Hawk, Ohio State When BAP and NEED are one and the same, you have to be thrilled == 07. Raiders - DT Haloti Ngata, Oregon Raiders are in dire need of a defensive tackle so they take the mass of humanity == 08. Bills - DB Michael Huff, Texas Great Player, Great measurables, Great size/speed ratio, and he fills a need == 09. Lions - OT Brick Ferguson, Virginia It's about time Matt Millen has some luck in the draft, and he couldn't dream Brick would fall to the lions == 10. Cards - QB Vince Young, Texas Kurt Warner is no spring chicken and he's breaking down physically, so Denny Green ends VY's suffering here ==
If we get Schaub, I would have been screaming for AJ Hawk at that pick. R. Dudley, Brady, Winslow - last 3 top 10 TE's.
The only issue I have with that is that Green Bay drafted Rodgers last year. I know that they've said they would be interested in one of the Top 3 QB's if they were there, but I think if it came down to it they would draft AJ Hawk at #5 before Cutler
I completely agree if they get shaub who i am not sold on they should not draft a te and 4 that would be a huge mistake. AJ hawk and Vilma would dominate the league for years to come. AJ AND VILMA BEST TANDEM IN THE LEAGUE
Finally we agree on something. Vernon Davis  Id like to trade down to get him, but if we cant, Id probably be one of the few that would satisfied taking him at 4
I thinhk Vince Young and Denny Green would be a match made in heaven. They would be like the '98 Vikings all over again. Vince Young would be their Randal Cunningham, and Fitz/Boldin would be the Moss/Carter.
Put Hawk to the Packers, Ngata to the 49ers and Cutler to the Raiders and I think this draft makes a ton of sense.
HOU- Bush RB NO- Williams DE TEN- Leinart QB NYJ- Hawk LB GB- Ferguson OL SF- Davis TE OAK- Young QB BUF- Huff DB DET- Hill DB ARZ- Sims LB
Why on earth would the Saints take Hawk after they FINALLY cleared out their end dilmemna? They have Charles Grant and Will Smith, those are their ends. If anything they need an OLB. I think they will take Brick or Hawk. And I don't think you can assume the Jets will aquire Shaub, it's not likely at all.
That is a horrendous projection. New Orleans does not need a DE. Green Bay does not need an OT as much as they need OG San Fran needs a TE less than we do and have a pretty good one in Eric Johnson Ernie Sims is not going top 10 although I think he may be better than Greenway and Ryans. Detroit won't pick Tye Hill, I'll promise you that.
01. Texans - RB Reggie Bush, USC The Ultimate No Brainer -Ok == 02. Saints - DE Mario Williams, NC State Jets and Titans won't bite and the Saints won't trade down any further and lose Super Mario -Also makes sense == 03. Titans - QB Matt Leinart, USC Norm Chow reunites with his former pupil\ -Yup == 04. Jets - TE Vernon "Duke" Davis, Maryland Having secured their QB {Matt Shaub}, Jets snatch the most freakish TE to come down the pike since Winslow1 -Stupid, stupid, stupid. Why waste the pick on a luxury postion when we still have huge needs at OT and RB. While I wouldn't mind D'brick or either White or Deangelo here, I will scream if we take a TE anywhere before round 4. Besides I am not too fond of "workout warriors" like Davis who see their stock soar just because of an impressive combine. == 05. Packers - QB Jay Cutler, Vanderbilt Pack tabs the kid who's been compared with Brett Favre and puts out the "FOR SALE" sign on Aaron Rodgers -Highly unlikely. Why give up on Aaron Rogers when he hasn't even taken a snap yet? == 06. 49ers - LB AJ Hawk, Ohio State When BAP and NEED are one and the same, you have to be thrilled -Maybe but I have a feeling it will be the Packers taking Hawk leaving the 9ers to take someone like Huff or Ngata. == 07. Raiders - DT Haloti Ngata, Oregon Raiders are in dire need of a defensive tackle so they take the mass of humanity -While it does fill a need I don't think Davis passes up the opportunity to grab Young or Cutler if either are still available. == 08. Bills - DB Michael Huff, Texas Great Player, Great measurables, Great size/speed ratio, and he fills a need -This would be a smart pick for the Bills, but I see them landing Ngata here. == 09. Lions - OT Brick Ferguson, Virginia It's about time Matt Millen has some luck in the draft, and he couldn't dream Brick would fall to the lions -No way the Jets, 9ers, and Bills would all pass up on Ferguson but I guess stranger things have happened on draft day. They still also could use a lot of help on defense especially in the secondary. If Huff is gone look for them to snag Jimmy Williams. == 10. Cards - QB Vince Young, Texas Kurt Warner is no spring chicken and he's breaking down physically, so Denny Green ends VY's suffering here -No question the Cards need a QB but I think they are more likely to land Cutler here.
Vernon Davis' stock isnt high only because of the combine, check out his college production. Great production from a great athlete
The Jets have to take AJ hawk if the QB position is set already. THey just have to. They would have the most feared young combination of lb's in the game, by far. And a young Q, and then you address o line.
Vernon was already a top ten pick before the combine. The only reasons people are shying away is because of the Kellen Winslow debacle. But let me tell you, this kid is 10x the prospect Winslow was. He is just about the best athlete to come out of the draft in a long time. Plus he was amazing in college.
