I think maybe some people who don't know Trevor Pryce don't realize what a potentially huge signing this is for the Jets. Especially after losing Jenkins, we desperately needed a big guy up front with some pass rush ability, as was demonstrated last week when Henne had all day to pass against 4 man rushes. This was the closest thing to a gaping hole in our defensive depth chart, and we added a solid vet with a borderline Hall of Fame resume and a history with this defense and coaching staff.

Great Read. Everyone said L.T. was on E to and we see that that is not the case.

Glad we picked up Pryce sure enough he will add some much needed depth. If anyone can get something outta the guy it's Rex we all know that. But on the other hand what did everyone expect Bart to say? The the guys on his last legs and he's finished?

    http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Ravens-surprised-by-Trevor-Pryce-defection.html

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- The Baltimore Ravens were surprised and privately a bit annoyed that veteran defensive end Trevor Pryce signed with the New York Jets after being cut on Wednesday.

Pryce had agreed verbally to come back to Baltimore next week, but changed his mind.

Now, Pryce will make a $2 million salary from the Ravens as well as his one-year deal with the Jets.

"I definitely would want him in this locker room, but now he’s over there with Rex daddy," outside linebacker Terrell Suggs said. "Yeah. I’m shocked. I’m still waiting on a call from him. I called him a few unpleasantries words, just joking around. That’s my man. He was like ‘I’ll call you later from the big city.’ So, all the best.”

Free safety Ed Reed and wide receiver Derrick Mason wore Pryce's No. 90 jerseys as a tribute to their former teammate.

"I talked to him last night and he's definitely excited," nose guard Kelly Gregg said. "It's just one of those things. It was tough. I was wishing he would come back here. He wants to play every game and he gets to play this weekend against Buffalo. It will be a lot of fun for him and Rex."

Defensive coordinator Greg Mattison was unaware that Pryce had signed with the Jets.

"I haven’t heard that," Mattison said. "If that is true, we loved having him here, and he was a tremendous addition in our meeting room. We wish him the best of luck.”

    Reunited with "Rex daddy" :)

Although I don't think Adalius is worth pursuing, they don't really play the same position in Rex's scheme. AT is an outside rusher and Pryce is inside. We now have a rotational player for inside rushes the way JT closes the outside. They will probably be lined up next to each other a lot in the 4th quarter.

I think its great we got pryce, but I dont like us running our mouths.
To me it seems like we fucked the ravens, and why would you wanna strain a relationship with an organization that could potentially help us in the future.
They have a history of drafting and having great players, if we keep it good with them, they might give us info on guys that they like but have to let go and things like that.

I hope they dont think we screwed them.

Anyway, We got another player/on field mentor for our young linemen. so taylor can coach up our LB's on rushing the passer, and pryce can do the same for the linemen.
Two guys on the top of the all time sack list working together (old or not) is gunna cause problems for some teams although probly not on a consistent basis.

I'm not convinced that Pryce has much left in the tank, but the Jets are desperately in need of d-line depth. There's pretty much no downside here.

yes, that is certainly what the Ravens would do, give the Jets tips. they were just dying to help us out, because the Jets and Ravens have such a personal relationship. are you fucking serious?

don't be so god damn insecure. the Jets don't need the Ravens help to scout players, and if they do we have the wrong front office.

for fuck's sake, I really did not anticipate a post in this thread this stupid. I thought this would be a harmless topic.

I like this. Used sparingly, he could be a huge help, especially when we go 4-down lineman for the pass rush. Him and Taylor next to each other, or even opposite each other, woo!
