Does anyone think he might be on thin ice right now in terms of playing time? With Thomas coming back, I could easily see McIntyre shifting to MLB. Bart doesn't have any mobility anymore and his tackling really hasn't been that good for someone that is noted for his ability to play the run. Maybe even Demario Davis? How much longer can the Jets keep starting Scott because he is a big name, big personality player?
id rather see harris lose time then scott. harris has been awful the last 8 or 10 regular season games. he was never great in coverage, but now he isnt doing much else either
Harris' game has regressed a little. I don't know if age is catching up with him, he's not the same player of a few years back. While he's still adequate he's not the force in the middle he once was. Manti Te'O anybody???
everyone slows down after years of playing. I know nobody wants to hear it but that is whats happening. He WAS in the backfield a few times but he was far from the biggest problem.
jet linebackers i don't care who can't cover over the middle or for sure not conver a TE, they have blitz on mind most of time
Ray Lewis continues to play at a high caliber. This is a what have you done lately game and Harris has not impressed me lately.
He is gonna be a stud in the NFL. I just dont see how they would justify drafting him since they have a ton of money tied up in Harris and just drafted Davis. Jarvis Jones or one of the LSU DE's would fill a bigger hole (assuming we are drafting in the top 12 or so, which I dont see happening).
Bart looks better then he did late last year. He's gotten a lot more playing time so far this season then he was getting last. He stays in most 3rd downs now. Pace has looked pretty good. Harris has been a big disappointment these last 2 games. For someone making 8 million a year you expect him to be an impact player. He helps stop the run but thats it. He looks like a step above a jag.
Davis is a third round pick. We have him for less than a million in cap space every year of his rookie deal.
The investment I was talking about was the high-round draft pick with Davis, and the money in Harris.
My bad, misunderstood. I still don't think a 3rd round pick should dictate where future picks are or aren't used.
I somewhat agree, but it would just be very disappointing if the Jets just gave up on Davis (assuming they dont cut Harris, which Im not sure if they can). At this point, I think what we know what we have in Bart Scott; he hasn't turned back into that player he was 3 years ago, and anybody that thought he would is foolish. We should be giving Davis more playing time. He is our future at the position. And if he isnt, we may be screwed. Edit: Also, giving Harris a big contract may turn out to bite us in the ass if he keeps playing at this level. Anyone know the details on how the contract was structured? Edit 2: I believe his cap hit is 13 million next year (which is appalling for just an average ILB and not a game changer) and 9 million in dead money if cut. So he's on this team next year, and it seems like 2014 is the only year he could possibly be cut.
There is no bigger hole on this team than at LB. Not RB, not WR, not DL, not OL. Not even close. I'm not sure we have one single NFL starting calibur LB on the roster
Yeah Davis was a third round pick and all. When do we see him actually you know doing something. Seems like our LB's are doing bad right now. Besides McIntryre I havent heard any of their names besides bad plays. Does Maybin have a tackle? or something..anything?
Very true. I really hope we go LB round 1 or round 2 this year too. OL and LB first 2 rounds. After that WR would be nice or more LB/OL/Safety
Take a look at the guys taken in round 3 this year and tell me how many you've seen, actually you know doing something.
Im not expecting him to contribute right now. Im just saying I know nothing about him. I was just wondering when he could, how he been been progressing, just saying.
