Just called up the FAN, 1st time ever calling to the Joe Benigno show...Touched on Torre over-using Proctor, why not keep in Villone...Getting over-used and gassed like Gordon and Quantrill once were... Then I switched gears to the Jets...Said Pennington is saying all the right things, he's my favorite player on the offense...But their's that 50/50 chance you think and hope he'll make it, but those injuries HAVE to be in the back of your head... Joe thanks for the call then responds by saying that week 1 at Nashville, Patrick Ramsey will be the starter...I was sorta baffled by him saying Ramsey, but their's his opinion.

I think it's going to be Pennington. If he isn't, i'm not gonna be shocked, because of the injuries, but I didn't see him saying "Patrick Ramsey" at all, which is why it puzzled me.
I'd like Pennington to play, but I just have my doubts that he will have be able to generate the power from his arm/shoulder to be a decent nfl qb again. Last year they should waited until he was close to 100% as possible before he was on the field. I still think about the punt to J-mac in the Miami game. I think most people expect that Ramsey will start, but are hopeful that chad can make a serious comback. I think Chad was only restructured because of the salary cap implications and he will gone be but next offseason. Hopefully KC will be the starter in 2007.

Ramsey's the only experienced QB without injury questions at the moment. That makes him odds-on favorite to start week 1, although I have no idea who's playing week 9.
would'nt be surprised if ramsey is our 3rd string qb. has'nt proven anything in the nfl as of yet. maybe a back-up, thats all.
