He calls a TON of offensive holding and false starts.

Does this hurt us or NE more? I think it screws our running game.

I should add: he throws among the fewest flags per game

Those two points are a bit contradictory, but sounds like it may be a good thing for Cromartie.

How can he call a ton of holding penalties yet be among the fewest flags per game among refs?

He calls more holds than every other ref in the NFL and those have to be the only penalties he calls.

Bill Leavy was the referee for the Jets at Bills game. (I'm not sure if he worked any other Jets games this year.)

The Jets were penalized 4 times for 30 yards-
    Mangold 10 for holding
    Sanchez 10 for intentional grounding
    Pryce 5 for encroachment
Weatherford 5 for delay of game

Refs know not to penalize the Pats and if the Jets even sniff Brady they'll get called for roughing the QB.

Wake me up when Goodell gives the officials permission to actually call the Pats' offensive line for holding . . .

Actually if this guy calls a ton of holds it would have to be a good thing because I saw a shitload of missed holings in the MNF game.

I could give a fuck who the refs are.

    Stop looking for excuses.

The Jets have to play well, not get less flags thrown against them.

Bill Leavy lived in Sharon, Mass for several years as a kid (my cousins went to HS with him). He was a huge Gaytriots fan as a kid (so they say), but like most referees, he's not partial to any particular team. (The NFL is pretty good about checking this.) I don't think that he helps or hurts either team. Moved to Ca in HS and they never spoke to him again.

The teams I hate playing most because of refs are the COLTS and PATRIOTS.

Yeah, we gotta play well but that also means no penalties.
If these guys just start throwing flags or keeping them in their pockets because we're in fuckboro, it could be a problem....
Hey, we're talking spygate, tuck rule...just so much BS that seems to always go in their favor.

The Indy game was a well refed game but that crew is mint.

I'd be upset if a ref didn't call a lot of false starts. It's a blatantly obvious penalty.

That '07 regular season "win" over Baltimore always stands out in my mind...

Thank god no Jerome Boger....he has that face or tone of the voice that is really annoying when having calls against you.

If this crew is among the least likely to call penalties, this is good. Let them play.
