However this coming Saturday turns out, we won't know until August, and September when these get on the field. I have full trust in Mangini, to have the knowdledge and character to turn this mess around. If you look at it, Saturday, the Jets are going to sign 4 or 5 above average free agents, and 4 or 5 role players that are going to bring us closer to a respectable franchise. What I'm looking foward to the most, is the playcalling, preperation, and scheming that Mangini will do. He will most likely be a much better X's and O's head coach than Herm, that we'll all be shocked at what a difference preperation makes. This team is headed in the right direction, but we really won't get to see it for sure until August and September. Until than, these prospects are just more names on the roster.:)

I am hoping for the best from our FO. We can not afford to have a so so draft.

Edwards is actually a better 'X's and 'O's coach than Mangini. In 2004, with an injured QB, Edwards and Henderson made halftime adjustments and shut out their opponents in seven games, six of which resulted in W's and a playoff berth and a playoff win. Mangini was a failure as a defensive coordinator leading the Patriots to a 26th ranked defense and 31st in pass defense, his alleged area of genius. Mangini was hired because he was Mike Tannenbaum's best friend since they interned together in Cleveland. No other team showed any interest in Mangini while as Gary Myers reported four teams asked the Jets about Herman Edwards when it became apparent that he was going to leave after Tannenbaum acconmplished his palace coup to get the GM job and hire his friend.

Don't let facts smack you in the face, keep drinking the Green Kool Aid and follow the Pied Piper of Hemstead into a last place AFC East finish.

26th ranked D.....lots of injuries? Doesn't the injury excuse work for Mangini, or is that exclusive to Edwards? Do you honestly think Herm had input on those adjustments? Did Herm show you anything in 4 years that would lead you to believe he knew his X&Os?

What about all the reports of easy training camps, which translated on the field to slow starts. Personel favortism towards veterans, whether they were getting the job done or not.......clock management ewrros falling from every ass on the sideline.....not assessing Chad.....

Should we keep going? THere's more.....

Where were those adjustments in 2001-2003? Where were they last year? You can't just look at the small sample that supports your argument and ignore everything else. This team is in much worse shape than it was when Herm got here, because he failed to develop talent. How is he not at fault? The only players on the roster worth mentioning as far as development are Vilma and Coleman. Vilma pretty much came NFL-ready and Coleman declined last year.

You want to blame Tannenbaum and Mangini for the lack of talent on the roster. They let go of Abraham and Mawae. If you think those two moves alone cause us to own the worst roster in the league, you need to take a closer look. And what would signing one or two high profile free agents have done, for a team with a roster as dry as ours? Why do you think they decided to start with the draft? This team is bare. You don't add high profile guys at this stage. When you have to rebuild the core of a team, you start with the draft.

I think you got a bit hooked on that Herm Kool-Aid. I hear it's being sold at a discount over in KC.

I wish you hadn't said that. I'm going to require surgury now to mend the split sides this remark has caused. By the way, how's the weather out there in KC? Been to any corn-dog rodeos lately?

    You Are NUTZ!

So all the Injuries on the Jets offense led to the JETS defense being better?

    and
You can Claim injuries for the JETS but meanwhile Injuries depleated NE's Defense but that doesn't apply to Mangini?

Man,That's just Ignorance at it's finest!

This type of thread presents itself year after year after year.

We're JETS fans. It never comes easy. It seems like the off-season is our only true optomistic part of the year.

At least we are rebuilding so we can manage to have some patience.

In my humble opinion, we grab a QB at the # 4 spot. Take cutler ( who has the arm to deal with the cutting winds of the Meadowlands)

Hey... we can't do anything as fans but hope and pray the new Front Office knows what they are doing.

We'll be on the clock very shortly.
