He was great at what he did. Sucks for him & his family. Bruce Willis Diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia, His Wife Emma Reveals: 'Condition Has Progressed'
Bruce Willis was super popular in Turkey back in the 80's along with Sylvester Stallone, Michael Jordan and Mohammed Ali. I grew up admiring him. Good old days.
You got me! I keep coming up with two of these and two of those. Unless you're looking at three here and one gone.
Ugh. I gotta spell everything for these old timers. Talking about most famous Americans in Turkey due to Sports or TV shows. byz, David Hasselhoff was also super popular due to his TV show. The TV show Dallas was also so big in Turkey you can't even believe. JR, Sue Ellen bla bla bla. Turkey isn't the only country under big American cultural dominance. Many countries in the world are like that. Michael Jordan is God outside USA. So is Mohammed Ali.
I remember when “Moonlighting” came out. Loved it, was so creative and a breath of fresh air from the TV shows at the time.
Few actors have gone from 0 to 100 the way Cybil Shepherd did at the start of her career - she went from being a 20-year-old model to being "discovered" by Peter Bogdanovich on a magazine cover to starring roles in two critically-acclaimed and highly-successful hit movies, The Last Picture Show and The Heartbreak Kid. Other than her role in Taxi Driver (Scorsese told the casting people he wanted a "Cybill Shepherd type" for the role, and they found one!), however, her career stalled badly for almost 15 years before Moonlighting came along and rejuvenated it. She was involved in choosing Bruce Willis to play opposite her, since the chemistry between them was so important for the show.
Taxi Driver came out in '76... Moonlighting debuted in '85. While the chemistry between Willis and Shepherd started out great... it soon devolved to hatred for each other.
Like I said, other than Taxi Driver (in 1976), her career stalled badly for almost 15 years between The Heartbreak Kid (1972) and Moonlighting (1985).
My sincerest apologies... I stand corrected. Here's a useless fact... I was engaged to the sister of one of the co-stars of Moonlighting.
