Here's one deal which will never happen, but for the sake of offseason discussion wanted to throw out there.

How about trading M. Wilk to Buffalo for massive OL Glenn and possibly a pick? Both are highly coveted free agents likely to be franchised, and the trade makes great sense for the jets for several reasons:

    1. The jets have a surplus of good players of the DL. Moving Wilk still lets them play Sheldon, Williams and Snacks (assuming he is resigned)

    2. Boy, do the jets need young blood on the OL. The jets OL is old and not good. Glenn is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered and allows the jets to use their 1st round pick on an edge rusher or RB.

    3. Glenn will probably cost less than Wilk.

    4. Rex would probably bite--he would trade any offensive player and a decent draft pick for a good defensive player any day. You're talking about a guy who thought Quinton Coples was a LB.

    5. The jets could always use the extra draft pick.

I know, not likely to happen and this board will erupt with outrage I even proposed it.

Definitely would upgrade a position that could use some help/depth especially when thinking of the future, we are stacked on D-line too; I wouldn't oppose to it, guess my exact opinion would depend on the draft pick 3rd? 4th? And the overall contract numbers would be important as well, but it's all hypothetical for now, I try not to get to into "what if" situations.

Doesnt make sense from the Buffalo stand point to me. They already have a massive amount invested in Dareus. No chance they would invest all that $$ in a dline , while also giving up a strong piece of their oline plus a pick, even if its not a 1st rounder.

So Bills get weaker while helping us out tremendously. Im all for it but I think it has less of a chance to happen because of the unbalance, rather than the obvious reason of divisional trades just dont happen.

If Wilk does get moved , unlikely IMO , we most likely wont get back a package that anyone will consider equal.

I get your point about Dareus, but this is Rex were talking about. They're also getting rid of Mario Williams, who didn't fit his scheme too well and Rex would love to get his favorite player back. Again its a so unlikely to happen, but I like the arguments made here.

No outrage here, tomdeb. I just don't think it would ever happen. For one thing, I don't think they'd consider trading Mo to a division rival and have to face him 2x a year. For another thing, I can't see the Jets dealing with Buffalo while Rex is there. For another thing, while Rex may have some input on the draft, I'm not sure he'd have much input with trades as they are more complex and impact the cap more.

If Rex was still our HC, he'd be trying to package 'Brick and Mangold for Dareus.

In division rivals don't trade franchise LT's and All-Pro DE's to each other.

Right. They rarely trade with each other at all, much less for topnotch players.

Trade our best player to a division rival? A rival that beat us twice and prevented us from making the playoffs?

You don't trade your best player to a division rival.....You don't trade your best player unless its for a franchise qb in the draft or otherwise.Case closed,Some of you guys need your IQ tested

so glad we have YOU since you have ALL the answers; when is the last time you proposed something yourself instead of just sneering at others' suggestions? You are probably a movie critic--never write any original material, just cut down what others have done--I am glad you have such a high IQ!

I found this to be edgy and provocative, playing to the hidden pundit in all of us. It's the feel-good hypothical trade thread of the season!

That said, it's not gonna happen - I don't think the Bills can afford Mo and we aren't trading with a division rival.

If the Jets trade Mo Wilk inside of the division, everyone should be fired and Woody should sell the team. It would actually rank as the #1 most angering move in Jets history.
