“I’ve got nothing to prove to the fans [or] the outside world,” Pryor said. “It’s all about me. I’ve got to look myself in the mirror. That’s all I’m worried about.” - Calvin Pryor I understand he is basically saying he holds himself to a high standard but wording your comments like this after this type of season for the fans to be forced to endure is bullshit to me. I thought he would be a stud for this team but he never learns and continues to make the same mistakes, take the same bad angles, make the same boneheaded plays and never makes a impact for this defense. It is a reflection for this defense as a whole, what the fuck happened? Why did he have such a good 2015 and then disappears like many other players on this team? Makes me wonder if there was some secret meeting by the players before the season where they said fuck it, let's relax this year, who cares? For any of these players or coaches to even hint that us fans don't matter is an utter slap in the face to me and it boils my blood a little. If it wasn't for the fan base there would be no money, no game, no team. Acting like you care about the disappointment of the fans can go a long ways considering the bullshit we've had to endure this year. Fuck, Pryor. That's my conclusion.
Never been a fan. Louisville slugger my ass. Hasn't made consistent plays for us since we drafted him in the FIRST ROUND. SMH We don't care about you either Calvin @DEAN O H
I wonder what Calvin sees when he looks in the mirror? Does he see a guy that is improving and working as hard as he can to help his team win? Does he see a guy that is still learning and through hard work will someday fulfill his potential? Is he content with his body of work so far into what has been, at best, an up-and-down career? For me, I would feel like I would have something to prove every single time I had the honor of stepping onto an NFL field - to myself, to my teammates, my family, and the fans.
I'm not defending Pryor's play but I just have a feeling there is something else at play here. I think it's morale and I think the jets get affected by it more than they should. Bowles / Rodgers don't show any life to get these guys performing at there best and also the leadership of well respected players such as Revis has checked out. Revis is a cancer right now with his huge salary and not caring one bit...The players wonder why he makes so much money but plays like he is in high school...The rest of the secondary get paid nothing compared to him why should they care. It should not be that way at all but it could play a part. Get Revis out the door asap and I think it will help.
Should've drafted HaHa instead.....although with our history, HaHa would've sucked on the Jets and Pryor would excel elsewhere (sigh) Jets doin Jets things
The white Eric Smith, this Jerk off was running his mouth on social media before he even played one NFL down, there's no surprise, fits in perfectly with this team
Who cares. These underperforming players have been slamming the fans for years. They get cut or play as a backup somewhere or are no longer in the NFL while we are the ones still here supporting the team after they're gone. In ten years I'll probably be saying Pryor who?
Do I have this right? You know exactly what he means, which is not how you are admittedly interpreting it that has you upset, and yet you are choosing to ignore what he means so you can be upset about your own misinterpretation which you know is not what he means? And this is supposed to reflect negatively on Pryor?
Actually Pryor had issues with the way Rex used him and publicly criticized him. Don't think he's a Rex guy.
I guess the front office feels the same way. http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-j...calvin-pryor-could-be-trade-bait-in-offseason
Dean, you give him more credit than I do. I'm not sure he cares or holds himself to any kind of standard. He might be one of those guys who doesn't really love or care about the game, only the money and fame of playing in the NFL. Unless he turns it around, I'll be sorry the Jets drafted him, and I really wanted him. I thought he was going to be an All Pro S in the NFL.
