Im expecting KC to have some growing pains, but im really looking forward to the threat of the intermediate pass opening up some running lanes for Thomas Jones.

what is the boards take on this? i dont think it is so much the deep ball, but the threat of quick 15-20 yard passes that will have to keep the LBs and the SS honest.

previously, the opposition could put 8 in the box, and they would kill the run and still defend the pass.

I think that all opposing D's will now put 8 in the box on every 1st and 2nd down forcing Clemens to beat them. Kind of like we did yesterday with Trent Edwards. Unless Clemens makes the D pay, the running game will get worse.

RedBronco is right. Initially, teams are putting 8 or even 9 into the box to stop the run and saying "Let Clemens beat us..." It's going to take some playcalling to show we're now going to open it up.. then they'll back off.

Other teams (two weeks) will Blitz incessantly, making Clemens prove he can pick the right option.

Once he hits two or three, against the blitz, and Jones breaks one off long, the game will return to normal with teams trying to outsmart him rather than attack him.....

He should however expect a bevy of drops, until these guys get used to catching fastballs...
