Honestly, I can make an argument for not using a TO in the 4th Q ... I don't agree with it, but I can see the argument. The end of the 1st half pissed me off 100x more. WTF was that?? How do you make no attempt to score with all your timeouts and an eternity left on the clock?? That was a fucking disgrace.
I don't get it. They got sacked didn't they? I mean I thought they were trying to score just failed at it. I could be wrong though. The timeouts thing at the end will get some heat thrown at Bowles but honestly giving up the TD hurt way worse. IF they held them to the FG, down 26-20 we'd been happy as shit with all the timeouts. Even as it was keeping the timeouts they could've had one for the Marshall false start at the end if not for having to sacrifice one for Mangold's injury
They ran the ball twice and milked the clock before the half. It was disgusting and horrid game management when they had all of their timeouts, were behind AND the Pats were getting the ball to open the second half. If we were getting the ball I could at least argue for taking the air out of the ball in that spot As for the end of the game you don't save the timeout when the other team can run off 40 seconds after the two minute warning. There's NO situation where saving the timeout is good in that spot. What are you saving it for exactly? You need a stop regardless and it won't save you 40 seconds if you have it on offense since you can mostly control how quick you run a play. It's just amazing how bad most of these coaches are at clock management, Andy Reid is still horrible at it after 15 years.
Like I said ... I can see the argument for that. But the end of the first half was a disaster. They sacked Brady at 2:36 and could have stopped the clock right there before the Patriot FG attempt ... giving them the ball back with at least 2:20 on the clock, with the two minute warning and two timeouts, only trailing by 3. Instead ... They let the Pats run it all the way down after the sack, and kick the FG at the 2:00 warning. After the KO, they proceeded to take the ball with 1:56 left and all three timeouts ... and decided run the ball twice, and let the clock tick all the way down to 32 seconds before taking a sack on a 3rd down pass attempt. Unreal. They went into the locker room with all 3 TO's in their pocket. Apparently they were more concerned with leaving time on the clock for the Pats than trying to score some points with an eternity on the clock. A complete disgrace by our coach. Shame on him.
Remember Aaron Rodgers last year (GB lost a few early season games) when he said.......... RELAX? I think everyone should do the same here. We have new management, new staff, some new players.... it will fall into place. The world is not coming to an end. I see nothing but good things ahead.
Okay thanks. I honestly didn't remember much about that first half sequence But yea that's pretty damn bad
Meanwhile in Bills Land...... "Rex lady and gentlemen is problem #1 Reasons: -This team has regressed especially defense -This team has no control, can't play under cool or with penalties -Bad personnel moves (cutting Thigpen, singing Moore) (cutting J. Gay) -The Jets look twenty times better without him -Has not won back to back games since 2012 -Focused more on extra curricular activities than winning( making online captains vs. Marrone, eating dog biscuits, jumping out of planes) -this team has adopted his characteristics...arrogance without backing anything up -Whenever anything goes wrong he looks for an excuse (penalties, injuries) -Gets out coached a majority of the time I believe we'll win enough games just to keep him back for another year (6 to 7) while also not getting a top 10 pick. Then after he proves to be to be inept again in year two, we'll blow the thing up and starts a rebuild AGAIN. We need to get rid of rex before this thing explodes."
Just because we'll probably be OK and look pretty good overall, doesn't mean we can't discuss the shortcomings of our team and coaching staff during this game Some of these calls with clock management and lack of aggression at times are alarming....Hopefully Bowles learns from this and doesn't blame it all on a Marshall drop
The Marshall drop was a 4 point swing...we still lose. It doesn't matter what Bowles did, if it didn't work, you'd all complain about it. If we were more aggressive and had a turn over, you complain we should have taken down by 3 and gone to the locker room. If he had used the time outs and lost, you'd have said we should have saved them.
The late injury cost us a crucial timeout that would have been used to set up the Hail Mary. Only issue I have is we should have let them score sooner.
