Colts' fans are petitioning their local government to pass a resolution seeking reimbursement for tickets purchased to the Colts-Jets game. Really? They think we need government intervention in the price of NFL tickets where first string players do not play the entire game? Their position requires the fans/local government to all play a role in the coach's seat. I guess whether or not a player should be on the field falls within the "I know it when I see it" scenario. Honestly, I have never seen so much condemnation for a team that has provided so much success to a city. The winningest team of the decade, with the longest regular season winning streak, and the city cries foul because they disagree with a strategy employed by the organization? Ask the 2007 Pats whether they are happy with the outcome of their "perfect" 2007 regular season. I hope the Colts' ownership packs up and moves to a new city in the middle of the night...again.
That will never happen. It would set a precedent for refunds of non-competitive sporting events - and the Lions would never make another dime on a game and fold.
wow that would definitely change the prices of preseason games.good for them i hope they pull it off.just for the preseason scam.
It doesn't help when Polian gets pissed at the fans and walks out of his call-in radio show. http://www.stampedeblue.com/2009/12/28/1222925/bill-polian-called-out-by-colts
Hahaha, what a bunch of fuckheads. That team has only lost a single game (and, really, they didn't in my mind lose that one either) and the fans are acting like this?
My thunder was stolen with the pre-season post.. That's exactly what I was thinking, I have to pay full price and prepaid parking for 2 shitty meaningless home games. If this is what Colts fans have to complain about obviously the organization is doing something right, lol.
Colts fans are pathetic. The whole NFL fanbase is watching as these horrible fans whine like little babies. I didn't see the Saints fan crying when they lost.
With the game ending on sunday, I decided to check on the colts official message board. I got in, read the titles of the threads (colts are losers, Polian is a retard, we aren't winning the superbowl, we aren't beating SD) and the database crashes. I was dying of laughter. What pussies.
say it were the jets being 14-0, wouldn't you want them to grow a set and go for the perfect record. if i paid for tickets only to see the team lay down and quit, i'd be pissed off and so wouldn't you. are you telling this board you would really be ok with that? having a chance at immortality?
Colts should have left Manning in so he could blow out his knee. Seriously, Indy fans are the most spoiled fans in football, followed closely by the Pats fans. Both of those fan bases are going to get a hugely needed attitude readjustment in the coming years as their HOF QB's fade away. 49ers fans thought the party was going on forever as did the Cowboys crew.
we see crap like this all the time on the green. hell that's why i come here most of the time, for a good laugh at all the whining......
Exactly, the Saints were trying to win! I think the Colts organization slapped both the players and the fans in the face with that move. I am the last person who would want the Colts to go undefeated, but that was not something you want to see (except if you're a Jets fan). Now they're gonna play their starters for part of the Bills game? Why not just finish the game they're playing and take Manning out after one quarter vs the Bills. If they win the SB, they'll always have to live with the fact they blew a chance at history. If they don't, then it was a waste anyway.
You wouldn't be going ape-shit if the Jets were 14-0 with two easily winnable games to go 16-0, and Rex basically threw a game?
I wouldn't be rallying for mass reimbursement if my team had locked up home field advantage and wanted to keep their Hall Of Fame centerpiece from being injured in a meaningless game. I wouldn't be happy about the general philosophy behind what the Colts did against the Jets, but how Colts fans are reacting is pathetic.
Here is my take on the whole issue Colts fans are having with Peyton and company being pulled, costing them a chance at perfect regular season. If the Colts were truly the better team (which they obviously are, before anyone gets at me), they shouldn't have been up only 5 points by the time Peyton and the rest of the starters were pulled. They should have had much more of a lead, right? Fuck that. The Jets defense is great but of course won't get credit because this game was a "gimme".
