sense I will not even attempt to spell his name- I am referring too the BC coach as Jags. he has been confirmed that Jags got fired for interviewing for the Jets. I find this a big risk to have taken and wonder if there is more to it. I know Jags has ties to Brett Favre from Green Bay, does anyone know if he has any ties to Ryan, Shottenheimer,etc... coaching candidates. Though he probably will not get the HC job do you think that he may have been told or it has beeen mentioned he might be brought on board as our OC if Shottenheimer or someone in house would be hired to coach team. Further validating that Tanny and The Wood will do whatever they need to maybe bring Favre back to New York. If anyone knows more about Jags career and ties he has to our coaches or potential coaches please enlighten me. Peter
why was it a risk? if an NFL team wants to interview you, you take the interview. if your boss gives you an ultimatum, that relationship is already destroyed beyond repair, so you inherently have to leave that job anyways. it's the best of both worlds for Jags. he gets to leave that job, get paid, and find a new one. no risk at all.
no risk- he is the head coach of a top 40 college team- he had another job already lined up? What was his chance of getting the Jets HC job 10% maybe less? Of course they are risks- if stoops, myer or a big name guy moves or leaves your telling me this guy get that job. Unless you can tell me he gets a College HC position on par with BC or better then he took a risk.
u find what I said confusing- I was responding to the statement that taking an interview that cost you your job was not a risk. I believe it was and was proven out he is no longer the coach of BC- I would say a pretty plush job.
no offense kid...but the grammar in your posts is tough to read...they might as well have been posted using crayons.
Apparently he's done a good job at BC. Im sure if the NFL showed some interest in him, other colleges might do the same. Wadya say?
ohhh please, sorry I save my spell check and grammar check for my business I run. Amazing how much thrill you guys get out of taking whacks at grammar on a fucking fan site!!!!!!!!!!
yeah but are there jobs open? I don't follow college football religiously but I believe if there was a college job on par with BC, that had a head coaching vacancy I would know of it. Does anyone know of any to be filled.
Personally I take it as a manhood thing, if not pure self interest. Someone is interested in hiring me for a clear promotion job and my current boss tells me I'm fired if I take the interview ... and goes public to the world with that threat? I take the interview every time in that case, no matter what my chances. otherwise be prepared to be forever labeled a timid, scaredy-cat pussy -- not something you want to be thought of as a head football coach, and something that will be remembered if you ever manage to get another interview.
relax man...i meant no offense....it was just tough to read. Take the time to re-read your posts before you post them...is all i'm saying.
well easy enough for many of us to say when we have never experienced the privlege to fill one of only about 100 jobs that exist in the world in the field we are dealing with.
point taken. Just understand I have bigger fish to fry running my own businesses then worrying about proof reading my own posts. I will make a concerted effort to improve though.
You do know that two years ago to take this job, he resigned from a job title (NFL offensive corrdinator) that only 32 positions exist in the entire world, right? By the way, also I'm pretty sure there are more than 100 Division 1A football programs ...
