Ten most intriguing players of Week One By Pat Fitzmaurice Sept. 2, 2008 With the 2008 regular season set to get under way Thursday night, Pat Fitzmaurice begins a new series of weekly articles geared to fantasy football. Besides his weekly player rankings, Fitzmaurice will post "Fitz's Five," "Ten most intriguing players" of the week and "The 60-second rant." What follows is the first installment of "Ten most intriguing players of Week One." ~ ~ ~ 2. Brett Favre — Unlike his successor in Green Bay, Favre has clearly established what sort of player he is. But will Favre continue to flourish with a new team, or will the longtime leader of the Pack fail to take root with the Jets? Is Favre’s heart still in it, or will he just go through the motions after losing an offseason game of chicken with Packers general manager Ted Thompson? It’s hard to bet against the proud Favre, but it’s also dangerous to bet on a quarterback in his late 30s. The Jets’ opener against the Dolphins in Miami should offer important clues about the sort of season Favre is going to have. ~ ~ 8. Jerricho Cotchery — Cotchery is a good receiver who may have potential for greatness. Perhaps Brett Favre can help elicit that greatness, beginning in Week One in Miami. Favre and Cotchery seem to have clicked with each other, but their developing chemistry is still only in the Petri-dish phase. > http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Fantasy+Football/Fantasy+Extras/2008/intriguing01.htm __________________
great to see, the Favre-Cotchery connection will be great this year. Cant wait to see Favre-Coles as well! going to be a solid year in the passing game.
Favre and Coles are gonna be good together but Favre and Cotchery are gonna be a great 1-2 punch. Constantly killin em!
i posted way back during JC's second year that i thought he was a poor mans sterling sharpe...... now, he may be better jil
funny cuz, im in FL so i watch alot of ACC college ball. i was able to see alot of cotch's career. and when we drafted him. I literally thought the coach's recognized his talents and hed be our number 2 his rookie year. well turns out herm edwards was our coach. and I'd been screaming for him to start. good thing mangini saw it too lol.
If Cotchery spends a lot of time in double coverage, Favre will use him as a decoy and spread the ball around all to the Jet's benefit. You will see 8 to 10 different guys catching passes most games. Kelly: yeah Favre's old but if he was 2nd in the MVP last year I doubt that he has lost that much in a year as to render him ineffective.
lol i never question brett favre physically. physically the guy could go on for another 3 or 4 years i truly believe that. its just a question if he wants to drag himself out of bed past this season.
well he sure doesnt want to come out for training camp and practice speaking of practice...
Favre/Cotchery, Favre/Coles, Favre/Keller, Favre/Leon Washington (haven't seen a HB Fly pattern in a long time around here), there are a lot of potentially interesting combos this year. All we need is for one of them to really click to have an entertaining season.
As long as Favre lets the game come to him and doesn't try to force the issue too often we should do fine, and yes, I am looking for a lot of exciting plays this year.
In my fantasy league this year I picked up Farve and Cotchery banking on them being exposive together this year. I got a lot riding on it but I believe that they will get it done. Brett Farve isn't going out like no chump. The man is a champion and I know he will get it done.
