in the third q with jets on cincy's 6 yard line, sanchez threw the ball to cotchery who ran it in for the TD

in all box scores i have seen they are calling it a RUN-----not a TD PASS

what gives????? did the ny papers call it a TD PASS???? i have watched the replay many times----it was a pass------any comments???

It was not a forward pass so it goes in the books as a run.

It was considered a lateral therefore a run..heard that on the post game show on ESPN radio.

Jerrico Cotchery: the new C-Mart. Is there anything the man does not do well?

It's a statistical quirk, which is why stats in football should be taken with a grain of salt. A couple of years ago in the finale vs KC, Kellen Clemens flipped the ball forward about two feet to Thomas Jones, who ran 15 yards for a TD. It went in the books as a 15-yard TD pass, this one to Cotchery was technically a run. That's why the only stat that matters is the six points.

Definitely a running touchdown. Think of it as a really long pitch.

Sanchez just can't get a break! Took away his only TD pass of the game.

He threw one to Edwards too, but he dropped it.

I think he's a lot happier than throwing a bunch of TDs and missing the playoffs.

I hope this is the case. I'm rooting for really cold and windy weather on Saturday that makes Sanchez want to tuck his arms on his sides and not move them the whole game. You can hand off from that posture but it's hard to throw from it.

That's a bit dramatic. He made the throws he had to make and was accurate in a pretty stiff wind Sunday night. I'm glad we don't rely on throwing the ball all over no matter who is the QB, not in the Meadowlands or Cincinnati in January.
