Came across some tweets from Antonio Cromartie just now, thought they were interesting and worth posting here... Post #1 Man another day of Good Work. When the season starts the Jets will b very impressed with the focus and hard wrk. We r putting n right nowPost #2 90 days till the first Pre-Season game. I'm excited.Post #3 I don't know if I'm going AZ yet. Honestly I feel I have the beat trainer in Ryan @proactivesp. He's the best in the business right now. Obviously the first one is the most interesting one.
Cro has made it clear he wants to be back as a Jet so I think this is just him hoping for the best. He is kinda like Braylon int he fact that they both want to be back it just does not mean we can afford what they want once it comes to contract time. I hope he does not try to break the bank and then he will most certainly be back.
I think the more impressive part of these tweets are how hard it seems like Cromartie is working. He seemed to be a slouch after his amazing season in San Diego.
He's just posturing for a contract. He knows he can return with a contender and he loved playing here, just like everyone else does.
At this point we have to take everything with a grain of salt. There are no guarantees on any of our free agents resigning.Of course some will but at this point we have no idea who will despite what any of them say or tweet.
True, but to be fair, this is Antonio Cromartie tweeting about Antonio Cromartie. Not the most objective source.
I think Cro realizes and maybe Holmes as well that if the lockout ends most likely 2010 rules or a form of them will apply. Which will mean he will be a restricted FA and can go nowhere. Either he will have to sign the tender, work on a trade and sign or work out an extension. Given that I am sure he is trying his best to appear to be hardworking and team orientated. Someone the Jets will want to be part of the teams long term future.
Doesn't mean anything. Just because he wants to play for the Jets doesn't necessarily mean he wants it more than a bigger contract.
Well, he's doing a terrible job at it. Management isn't going to give him a big contract just because he really likes the team. If anything he's trying to get other teams to make bigger offers to "lure" him away from the Jets, thus hiking up his asking price.
I've said this before, but every signal the team has ever put out about Cro is that the CS likes him, too. It's not only that he likes the Jets.
Shhhh...... don't tell anyone. Unlike "certain other teams" Rob Gronkowski doesn't want anyone to know that he's doing offseason workouts, and he's told the media that.
We will see during contract discussions how much he is committed to playing for Jets. Anything before that time don't mean much to me.
The main reason Cro is posting his workout info is because just about every NFL player on twitter is. On top of that, Revis and Wilson practicing together has been getting a lot of attention on Twitter. No matter the reason I'm glad he's fired up and wants to be a Jet.
