Who would you want? Not to bury Chad in an early grave, but if he's cut, who do you want the Jets to take, out of the two? There are no others here, its just between the two.

Id go with neither, but if someone was pointing a gun at my head and wanted to make me choose, then Id go with Rivers. Under no condition would I take Cutler, unless he fell to our 2nd rounder. Since that wont happen, I dont want him

Lets talk dollars and cents. Cutlers contract will be more than the one given to Rivers. They would both be #4 picks at the same position and every year the contract goes up 5%-10%. We would be responcible for all of Cutler's contract. Rivers received his bonus from the CHargers and the only money he is due for the last three years of his contract is the annual salary.

Cutler would cost us our #4 pick and twice the money. Marty will trade Rivers for Abe if nothing more than to help out his son. Rivers knows the offense we will be using and knows our OC very well.

Cutler would need to adjust to the NFL, learn a new offense, and prove he can be an NFL QB. Rivers can walk in as the starter from day one.

We can't afford to keep Abe and the Chargers will give us the best value. So Abe for Rivers and then trade down from #4 with a team that wants Cutler. We could get good value for the #4 just like we were suckered when we traded up to #4 for Robertson.

No question, Rivers is the BPA for the price.

Rivers...he is more ready to play.

  5. If we could acquire Rivers for less than a 1st rounder, he'd obviously be my choice b/c we'd still be able to address a need in round 1 while acquiring a quality young QB.

However, all "Draft position/cap room/etc" aside...head to head I take Cutler. I think the Boller comparrisions are absolutely bogus, and although he may not be worthy of a top 5 pick...he IS worthy of a top 15. His quick release/arm strength/accuracy is out of this world, and if he can improve his footwork..look out. We could have another Favre on our hands.

we are not getting Rivers. Are you all taking crazy pills? How, and why would SD ever let him go considering the situation with Brees? I'm not sold on Cutler either, at least not with the 4th pick. What do you all think of Olson or Croyle? I think we could get them at a lesser price while still being able to rebuild an offensive line

I'd rather take Cutler and trade Abe for a first than trade Abe for Rivers and still have our first.

Cutler can do it all...Rivers has talent too, but I would rather get the younger more versatile player in Cutler...

Just so I understand...you would rather have Cutler and say the #19 pick instead of Rivers and the #4?

The #4 pick is worth both the #18 & #19 picks combined. We gave up more than that to move up and draft Robertson at #4.

Also Rivers already received his bonus money and would be half the cost of Cutler.

Brees would be a nice fit since we will be using a variation of the Chargers offense, but he will cost way to much to get and the injury does scare my.

with pennington situation the jets would never bring in a qb with a injury situation cause they would be the laughing stock of the league
