I actually like the idea of Posluszny as an ILB in the 3-4. He's got the right build for it. I'd definitely give this some thought, although it'll be hard to pass up Revis, Ross, Blalock, or Spencer if they're still sitting there smiling.

    coleman

yea, from what i understand parcells gave the jets the heads up on coleman and told them to jump on the deal. He must have been doing something right to catch the eye of the Tuna.

yeah, tuna tits loved him so much he stayed out of the starting lineup the entire time in dallas....must have thought he was all world! the fact that he is being written about as a player who "puts it on cruise control" does 2 things...1 makes me want him even less, and 2 doesnt sound like a parcells guy.

until its proven otherwise, he was a player that was overpaid.

Still don't think he's received anything beyond his signing bonus, to be honest.

They had some pretty decent ends in Dallas.

So, Cimini thinks 4 mil a year is WAY over paying Coleman. Once again, Cimini's bias comes to the fore.

Coleman was playing behind Spears, the 20th overall pick by Dallas in the first round of 2005. Even though Spears got most of the playing time, Spears had 45 tackles and 1 sack. Coleman had 30 tackles and 4 sacks. Those 4 sacks are 3 more than KimoVonOld and Hamilton combined. Thats also only one less sack than Ellis, our full time DE on the other side.

3-4 DE's aren't easy to find. If they were, we would have one already. Coleman has played in the 3-4 scheme for four years, is only 28 years old and was obviously recommended by Parcells. Aside from that, there is only one good 3-4 DE in the draft, and Carricker will be long gone before the Jets pick.

At the very least, at least one of the 3 holes we had on defense had to be addressed in FA (DE, CB, NT). This guy should help the pass rush and should allow the Jets to look at OLB tweeners that can blitz in the draft. Coleman is likely the best 3-4 DE in FA this year. Make no mistake, he's a big improvement over Kimo and Hamilton. Only Cimini can turn this into a negative. In FA, you will always pay since you are bidding against other teams. Cimini would be whining if we went into the season with the trash we had last year too.

3 reason's Cimini is an idiot.
1)$4.5 million is not a big amount of bonus and the only guaranteed money.
    2) Barton plays OUTSIDE LB.
    3) Spencer is veery convertible to a 3-4 OLB.

might want to retract the first part about Cimini being the idiot

Barton plays ILB next to Vilma, and if it wasnt obvious enough, Hobson and Thomas are the OLBs
