Already talked about and agree by many (at least me). So what he works for ESPN? He played with Sanchez for 2 years.
But he's giving out an opinion that really has no real basis 'cause he wasn't part of the 2011 team that turned to shambles this year. He is basically acting like he KNOWS what went on in that locker room this year when he really doesn't. The teams he's been on with Mark were the teams that ended up in the AFCCG's. Also, in light of the other reports, that Mark Sanchez does indeed work hard in practice and Mason(of all people) defending Mark, I'd say Woody is barking up the wrong tree here and this is simply a case of him sucking up to the Leeches over at ESPN to gain favor.
I posted this earlier on another post: 'All the ex players turned football analyst are doing a job for ratings, a paycheck and to keep their job and will do anything even rip their former team a new asshole to keep it.(see Tiki Barber).'
If you watched him on NFL live today he did say Sanchez was an incredibly hard worker with good work ethic, and that our offensive line straight up failed him this year. And He personally believes Sanchez can get this team a superbowl. So anyone who thinks he was anti jets or even anti Sanchez is just a conspiracy theorist acting all paranoid. Woody had Sanchez's back, and thats a fact As a matter of fact everyone on NFL live (hell everyone on ESPN in general except Cowherd) was very pro Jets. Pretty much the consensus was that these "anyonmous" people need to put a name or STFU and that this article never shoulda been published.
Its because he didnt. People just enjoy whining and playing the victim. Theyd make great Patriot fans.
Put it this way. It always comes off worse in the forums than it really is. Even Francesser isn't really that bad compared to how he's made out here.
Look, people. Have you actually paid attention to Mark Sanchez? The guy gave Rex the silent treatment after he had to give up 3, count em, 3 live snaps to his backup the week after he suffered a stinger in his throwing arm. That is what we in the business call a 'fragile psyche.' I don't think any claims that he had been babied are that far from the mark. Pun intended.
Woody's comments on Sanchez being "Babied" were more in reference to how the Jets let their QB be treated with the media. Rex's intention was to rile Sanchez by having Brunell take a few snaps and it worked same as last year, although he still had a rough game. People keep jawing about how fragile Sanchez is but, you only needed to watch the punishing hits he took all season, and kept on going like the Energizer Bunny. His play suffered yes, but, fragile he is not.
Physical and mental toughness are not really in the same galaxy. Or should I say 'psychological' toughness. Bad comparison. Ego is not the same as pain threshold.
