Wow! Talk about a Houdini act during the first two games. David Clowney has been even less useful/visible than Vernon Gholston. Is this the game in which Clowney's speed comes into play and he finally gets a catch for the season? Did he even play in the Patriots game? I hope I'm wrong...but it looks like 'Mr. August' is all he'll ever be.

Sunday better be his chance, the Titans have a horrible pass defense so far and have been burned deep....Clowney can fly let's see what he can do

comparing clowney to gholston is silly. gholston is a first round pick and clowney is not even close to that. he'll have some moments, but he is not going to become a randy moss type.

Here's where all that twittering BS is biting him in the ass. Instead of that, Clowney should have been working hard to elevate his game so that instead of being an afterthought, he'd become essential to the offense.

"Mr. August" had better wake the fuck up, put his blackberry in his gymbag and get his game on. Instead of twittering, he should be in the playbook or on the practice field putting in additional hours trying to take his game to the next level instead of berating fans and other nonsensical shit..

How many 3 or 4 wideout sets did we play against NE? Just wasn't in the game plan. He will get his opportunity before the season ends.

Who thought Coleman would sniff the field this season against a formidable opponent? We need the whole roster during the course of 16 games.

He's been on the practice squad. Vicariously, that is.

Why wasn't Clowney involved more? He's faster than Stuckey but evidently, not BETTER than. It comes down to work ethic and ability. Speed isn't the only barometer. Stuckey wasn't always considered the #3 option, but he put in the hours with Sanchez and now look at that combo. It's solid.

Clowney will be lucky to stick with this team if he shows as much as Gholston by seasons' end. He doesn't have Vern's contract does he...Then again, this team gave Paul Washington and Marcus Henry multiple chances too.. Go figure..

This pretty much sums it up.

Teams are stacking the box against the Jets. So they are not running nearly as many spread plays as they did with Favre. It also looks like they really want to protect Sanchez because Keller isnt much of a blocker, thus not many empty backfields either. Obviously, Clowney isnt near as good as Stuckey/Keller. Hence no plays for Clowney. Not sure that upsets me too much anyhow

No matter what he's done in the preseason the past 2 years, I feel much more confident throwing the ball to Cotch, Stuckey and Keller. Not to say there won't be a place for him should somebody get hurt, but at this point he's nothing more than a 5th option after the aforementioned trio and Leon...

None of you guys are being anywhere near reasonable. To say he'll never amount to anything more than "Mr. August" is just silly! Do you really think that Shotty is going to open up the entire playbook in the first two weeks of the season? Clowney has a role, that is, he's a speed receiver. Get down the field, break away from the DB and catch the ball. When our coaching staff feels comfortable with Sanchez putting the ball in the air like that, Clowney will get his packages. My guess is we won't even see consistant use of Clowney until after the BYE, probably in the Patriot game.

I Would give him more playing time this week. The Titans have been beat deep alot so far this year and with Clowney's speed i would give him a couple more chances then normal.

Are you guys seriously blaming his lack of performance on twitter? "He should be trying to get better instead of tweeting." It only takes seconds to twitter 5-10 times a day...we don't know his work ethic so it's unfair to assume it's bad.
