#1 has to be Rod Marinelli for going 0-16 and canned.

They're out of their minds. Buddy Ryan went 55-55 in 110 games as a head coach and made the playoffs in 3 out of 7 years. I can think of 15 guys who coached last year who weren't as good as him.

Buddy was a good coach, he resurrected a bad Philly team. he just couldn't get over the hump in January.

To be fair he ran into some very good teams and bad scenarios. Wasn't Buddy's first playoff game with Philly the Fog Bowl?

    yes

'88 lost at Chi Fog Bowl in div rd
'89 lost at home in WC rd at home to Rams
'90 lost at home in WC rd to Wash

The first one was ok, the last 2 were not.

it also didn't help that Rich Kotite won a playoff game w/ Philly in his first playoff game.

Barcs, you got a problem man. Seriously WTF is wrong with you?

There's no Jets "hate" in that article. If it's hating on the Jets to say Richie Kotite was a joke of a HC, then I guess I'm a Jets hater.. even though I'm a lifelong fan. He was TERRIBLE

Buddy has nothing to do with the Jets..

Morningweg "hate" is A). aptly placed, the guy was joke as a HC and B) has nothing to do with the Jets.

Unless you have beef with the fact that Jets coaches Lou Holtz, Bruce Coslet and Richie Kotite are listed, then that's only way your comment makes ANY sense. (But even that makes no sense as even the brightest of Jets sunshiners would tell you those guys SUCK).

What gives man? You go over the top on shit like this.. it's annoying

Having Buddy Ryan on this list is a joke, and just a clear attempt on the writers part to generate a buzz.

He took a completely irrelevant team in Philly, and won 10 games every year after his first. The Giants and Parcells conservative style would routinely get embarrassed by Ryan's aggressive brand of football. In 1990, the Eagles were flat out dangerous, destroying the eventual SB Giants late in the year. Still don't know how they blew the playoffs in WC round. The playoff record would be the only legitimate knock on Ryan.
Fortunately for the Giants, they never had to play them in postseason.

And as a coordinator and assistant, he was instrumental in the defensive game plan which won the Jets the SB in 68. He oversaw the Purple People eaters in the 70's, and of course the Bears throughout the 80's.
He revolutionized the game in attacking the opposing QB as the point of emphasis.
and of course created defensive schemes which are still utilized today.

Ryan wouldn't have been on this list 5 years ago. This is more indirect Rex and Jets bashing for the sake of drawing interest to their shitty list..

Please. Morningwood goes 5-27, hes at the top of the list really?

    Rod Rust...managed...a Win...?

    Marinelli couldnt buy a win.

Spurrier? Got a team with a deep pockets owner, not the Detroit Lions.

Barcs is right. Heck, even Rich Kotite belongs at the top of that list before MM.

And PS, Buddy Ryan at least got to .500, and while the list pertains to head coaches, (and is a list of some pretty impressive coordinators), he only built the greatest defense of all time, and Gave Philly some pretty good defensive football, so to start out with a snarky comment, is just retarded.
