I predicted a 17-10 Jets victory in the Chargers game, and I'm sure that's what the score would have been if Rivers hadn't of completed that slant pass to Jackson on 3rd & 7 from the 13 at the end of the game. Jackson caught it at the 9 yrd. line and ran to the one before getting tackled by Bart Scott. They would have kicked the field goal had he been tackled short of the marker(maybe even making it).

Watching the replay on NFL Network tonight, I notice that there was nobody within 5 yards of Jackson when he caught the ball, but there's three Jet defenders (Scott, Strickland & Harris) lumped together in the middle of the field at the 5 yard line...1 yard beyond the first down marker.

Why is their top receiver uncovered in that situation? That's some pretty soft coverage. That kind of shit is what's gonna kill us in the Colt's game.

Our zone coverage is pretty bad, the LB's and DB's better step up their game!

looked to me like in that first half TD to the TE that Bart just dropped him around the goal line then hung out in the middle of the field guarding no one.

Didn't see that one, but the Jackson catch was easily defend-able. He broke clean off the line, and it was a slow (relatively) developed slant. I'm not saying he doesn't make the catch, but he could have easily been tracked and tackled bringing up 4th down outside the 5 yard line.

I just don't understand why three defenders are lumped together in the middle of the field beyond the 1st down marker in that situation. There were no Charger receivers heading into that area, Jackson was moving across and away from them, and nobody was on him. He's their #1 receiver.

    Maybe he's just too tall...

remember that both our ILBs have fucked up ankles... that really is a problem mobility-wise... they already struggle in coverage when they are healthy. Anyone who tried running on a bad ankle knows what I mean...
