I was watching the game on TV with a couple friends (I'm the only Jets fan there). They were all going, "Oh man, that sucks" and the like. I basically remained silent, thinking "here we go again". I muttered "ah, fuck"...but that was about it for the next few minutes.

I didn't cheer but I did have bit of mild rage towards Mangini and GM. I was talking to the tv saying these guys think they are smarter than everyone else and this is whatit gets us in the first game.

There are times when I am embarrassed to be a Jet fan and yesterday when chad got hurt was one of those times. It was a complete disgrace, those who cheered are nothing but morons.

I thought Chad was a warrior fighting to get off the field to save the team a timeout. I might not have cheered out loud though, can't really remember, but I was really impressed and was telling friends on AIM and stuff. I didn't cheer when Clemens ran on the field but it happened so close together that I think maybe that is what happened in the Meadowlands. I did make a mention of that to some friends too though, that the crowd was cheering cuz Clemens went out. I remember thinking it was kinda lame though, and I didn't expect Clemens to do well or make a difference.

after the backlash we've seen on here i don't think we're going to get too many honest answers. i didn't have much of a reaction other then being in shock at the stadium at large's reaction.

obviously the people themselves only know exactly why/when they cheered, but that certainly wasn't the right time to do it. perception is reality in cases like this and it sounded to all the world like jets fans were booing chad being injured.

    You forgot to add:
    - Cheered when Penny came back in

Jet-O came up to my seat and we were talking, I looked to her and said Did you hear the fans cheer when Penny got hurt? Fukin sad.
She replied something to the effect of "That was fukin' Pathetic, That was totally uncalled for. ". She was pretty heated also.

My Uncle who sits with me does nothing but criticize Penny (He didn't cheer though ) so unfortunately I have to constantly point out the good things that he does.

I like Clemens also, I think he Is accurate and will be solid when he takes over.
But The sad part is that it will not matter who is back there if the O-Line situation doesn't get resolved.

I watched it on TV and didn't cheer at all. Just kind of put my head down and though to myself "there goes 07." It looked serious and I thought he was done for the yr.

I missed it. At the time, I was hopping back from the bathroom, tripped over my dog, and tried catching myself with my broken left leg. The rest was lost in screams of agony :(

Completely disgusting. Especially when trying to explain to my novice football fan girlfriend why the fans were cheering.

hell no. First of all, I usually stay silent when I'm watching a game alone.

Second, it's classless to cheer when your QB gets injured, no matter how good you think his backup is.

Exactly. You'd have better luck asking who supports dogfighting.

I was at the game. When Chad went down got up and went down again my stomach turned. I could not even watch. Jet fans do not seem to realize that if Chad goes down, so does this season. Kellen is not Tom Brady, there has only been ONE Brady. He may be a solid QB in the future, but to think he can come in and lead this offense like Chad is crazy.

Some Jets fans were cheering that he got hurt, I do not care what excuses you give me to say you were not. Some Fans were cheering for Kellen's entry, and thats fine, but a fair amount of people in my section were happy to see Chad go down. I guess they have short memories of whats happened in the past when Chad has been out with an injury. IF chad does not play next weekend in Baltimore, it could get REAL ugly.

I was at the game and my stomach turned when he went down. I definatley banged the seat in front of me and watched as Chad was helped off the field.

However, I was never to embarrassed to be a Jets fan as when people cheered that he was hurt. The man has only given 100% for this team, including playoff berths, playing hurt, and taking a pay-cut. If you want to criticize his playing skills and don't want him as our QB thats fine, let the coaches sit him. But to cheer when one of our own is HURT, writhing in pain on the field, thats disgraceful. I think Chris Berman put it best when he said "Jet fans, you're better than that."

Ok, I will answer honest. I was happy. I feel bad for Chad but, I am interested to see Clemens play. Chad is a warrior, and he does good but, enough is enough. I cant root for a team when I have to worry every time he drops back that hes gonna break. Hes slow, older and its time for a change. As far as Phil Simms telling me how I should feel, and I have no class? fuck him. I didnt vote or have any say who the starting QB is, so If the guy I want comes in, I have the right to cheer!
