They sell what the opposing team doesn't need mid week before the game.. however, the supply is REAL LIMITED.

The individual seats they sell suck. Just show up to the game, go near a gate, raise your hand, hold up fingers of how many tickets you want, and the scalpers will come. The closer to game time (or after game time) you get, the more desperate the scalpers get, and the cheaper the tickets get. Plus, a lot of people selling tickets aren't really scalpers - they're just regular people who have extra tickets and want some money back. So, chances are, you won't get ripped off.

stubhub.com usually has some, or just go the scalpers route. as said above, wait until closer to gametime so that they get desperate and dont charge you $50 more than the ticket is worth.

but i gotta admit, its funny as hell when someone buys scalped tickets then the person who owns the legit tickets shows up and the other person gets thrown out

I dunno. Scalpers serve a purpose. I've went to a lot of really good road games and have memories that will last the rest of my life, and the money would be gone anyway on some other stupid thing....like an ipod that you end up dropping or something. I'll never forget Parcells walking on the field in Denver in January of 99, putting on the headphones, and beginning to pace the sidelines with the annoyed look on his face. It's etched into my mind, and without scalpers I would have been home watching a car commercial at that time instead.

But I agree that it's easy to find tickets @ the swamp. Just park and walk to towards the gate.

They used to put a limited amount on sale at the box office around the second week of August, but they don't really promote it. I'm not sure if they still even do it, but when they did it was just a small announcement you had to look for.

I dunno... I think buying scalped tickets at the Meadowlands will be harder this year than other years. The parking thing is gonna mess up some buyers. Without a parking pass you're going to have to park in Oshkosh, get over to the parking lot and then take a chance on picking up some seats.

I've been on both sides of that transaction but mostly on the selling end when its only my wife and I and I need to unload 2 of my 4 tix. But then there's the whole Security thing about selling tix right in front of the gates. They've got spotters and plainclothes jackoffs that crack down on the scalping (warnings booming constantly on the loudspeakers also), so a guy like me is reluctant to sell right there out of fear they'll nail you.

I think you're better off going thru Stubhub. At least you've got a legit source... much better than ePay, and with recourse too. They've got a pretty good setup as far as guaranteeing you the tickets on time.

Of course, if i know I'm going to get rid of any of mine beforehand, I'll be sure to give notice here.

I have the same problem as you. I spent 10 years on the waiting list, and during that time my wife managed to get someone to sign their tickets over to her for a price. Then the next year I came up on the list, now I have two pairs. I waited so long for mine I don't want to give them up, but we use her seats because they are better.

So I move the other pair, usually to people I know for face value, I try all Jet fans first. Last year I had to use StubHub, which was good, got them sold, but this year the parking situation throws a monkey wrench into it. I bought one prepaid pass for us, and if people I know buy the other pair they can ride in and grill with us. It's the ones I might have to sell online that I'm not sure of. I guess anyone who buys them online will know going in that the parking is up to them.

Yeah, that's definitely a problem this year and for a couple of years to come... the parking fiasco. In recent years I've moved my tix thru Stubhub also... it always worked out pretty good and I deliver ASAP after the sale. Years ago, however, I gave my tix to a guy I knew and told him to discreetly sell 2 of the 4 in the parking lot.

Well, wouldn't you know he got nailed? They get him and bring him into the office. First thing they do is take away all 4 tickets, then they grill him about whose tickets they are. So he tells them they belong to me and that I gave them to him and he was selling them without my permission (WHEW!). So they keep the tickets and boot him out the door and tell him he's lucky they're not prosecuting him.

I sweated it out afterwards but never heard anything else from the Jets over this and it kinda disappeared. That was probably 15 years ago, so I don't know what they do now if you're caught selling on the premises. Bottom line is, if you value your tix and have to unload before a game, do it someplace else other than the freakin' parking lot.

If you're on the waiting list you can always pick them up ahead of time for face value off the NY Jets website.

Wow, you dodged a bullet. I know one guy who is a Jet fan and told me he'd buy the whole season, but the problem is he's too much of a hothead. Trouble finds this guy. The one time there was a fight in my section was when he was there, and he was minding his own business, got into a scuffle anyway. The odds of him going 8 games upstairs and not getting my tickets revoked are slim and none.

Hahahahaa.... I hear you. That's always the one thing that most of us don't know... what happens if you sell your tix to some @sshole and he screws up royally? I never heard of anybody getting revoked over that but hey, I've been a ticketholder for a long time and enjoy going, so I don't need the aggrevation. I suppose they'd take that into consideration though, that they've had me as a ticketholder for a long time without any incidents. They'd probably have to have multiple violations before they decide the guy's an @sshole and they need to revoke.

I'm not real clear on NJ scalping laws and perhaps someone else with more familiarity can provide comment, but I do remember some things about ticket resale. I believe you can sell tickets in NJ and it's not "scalping" until the price exceeds something like 20% above face, not including shipping and handling either. So, you can put some $100 tickets on ePay, for example, for $120 and not be considered "scalping" them. The figure may be 10% and not 20%, but you get the idea.

Now, selling them in the parking lot is another thing. Ticket resale is strictly forbidden "on the property," so this is where they can nail you, no matter what the selling price is. This is why you see the scalper jerkoffs over at the phone booths just after the toll booth at Exit 16W, or the guys walking along Rte 3. They're technically "off the property," but then the state police hassle them up the whazoo, which they have every right to, because they're out there flagging down traffic.
