This is a new phenomenon in the NFL - firing coaches in the middle of the season, especially for teams that have no chance (Haley too). It's much more baseball-like and hockey-like. Not sure why they're bothering, but he certainly was gone after the season anyway. No fist pumps today.
hahahaha, Dolphins are a mess. The team was really playing for him lately, this was totally uncalled for. Good morale destructor with this, sets up nicely for week 17
Teams aren't waiting around this year, wow. Maybe they all want the jump on some of the guys not coaching, like Gruden or Cowher.
This must be the day for coaches to be fired...unfortunately they can only get somebody better and that will hurt the Jets.
Steve Ross is just a mess. This is the same dude that, a year ago, chose to NOT fire Sparano while the he publicly romanced Jim Harbaugh. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that Ross wants to make damn sure the Dolphins don't fuck up their future by trying to win any more games.
I must say I'm disappointed. First they fire a great coach in Wannstedt, now they're firing an even better coach in Sparano.
This might have had something to do with the fact that they were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yesterday. Either that or Ross got pissed that he couldn't sell his tickets to the Eagles game for face value.
I hope Ross sees a lot of Shula in the young shottenheimer edit: I had nfl network on in the background and immediately after typing this jason la corona was basically saying that he reckoned that brian would at least get an interview with the phins, sweet
Fuck that. You saw that douchebag on NFL network just say that? Mediocrity for another decade if we hire your pathetic OC.
