If you just watch the tape and tune out the media, it's clear Geno Smith throws the ball much better than Mark Sanchez. I've been telling people that for awhile...

Also reveals how clueless and destructive Ryan is with QBs. He keeps playing in practice Smith - the guy they supposedly all wanted to be the #1 QB - after he is injured and thereby sabotaging him for the game where he starts & comes out and then plays god-awful. Then he puts Sanchez in the game in the 4th quarter behind scrubs and gets him injured when it was clear he had won the least ugly baby contest. In order to keep the competition "fair" I guess he had to get (or keep) them both injured and then have the last guy literally left standing be the basis upon which it makes the "decision" for him. What a dope.

That is what i assumed the thinking has been all along.
Idzik drafted the guy, MM has been reported as impressed with him since the pro day, and Rex is coaching for his job (what better way than to turn the page and start a new offensive era).

The ankle injury and turnovers in the Giant game definitely threw in some wrinkles, and rightfully prolonged any announcement, and kept the competition going.

What i was really amazed at is all the conspiracy theorists amongst this board and media, and the Rex loves Sanchez theories.

Worth noting though....i take anything unsubstantiated from Mehta with a grain of salt, so this article could just be his unqualified speculation.

"Although speculation centered on Ryan's desire to cling to Sanchez" -speculation from Mehta himself.

"Ryan, who will have final say after collaborating with Idzik, offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, quarterbacks coach David Lee and others" - Mehta told me Idzik was rigging this and it was Idzik's decision from the get go.

"The brain trust was pleased with Smith's ability to digest the playbook and perform against Ryan's complicated defense in practices, according to sources." But you told me it was rigged and Sanchez was clearly winning if it wasn't rigged Mehta.

Might as well. Have to figure out if we have to draft another qb in the next draft.

They needed a separated shoulder for that, not a bruised one.

"anonymous sources" broke Watergate and a bunch of other big stories. Because a source is anonymous does not make it uncredible.

Good.. I didn't buy this elite Geno jersey and buy these tickets for week 1 to see Sanchez throw 4 interceptions.

Good news. Looking forward to seeing in Morningwig's Offense. Marty has a knack for gaming for success for his QB's. There are a long line of QB's that looked good in Philly who looked awful for other teams after they moved on.

If MM and David Lee fully endorse Smith then I am behind him 100% as a fan. I'm excited and I have a very strong feeling that those two hires will be the best offseason moves we've made this year as a team.

No but when it comes from an organization that lives almostly solely off anonymous sources they become very, very weak. The daily news has become about as credible as the national enquirer with all of its fake stories.

If Geno is the starter, expect a long season ahead.....if the Jets go 0-4 the first 4 games,
I would expect them to sit Geno, if not----goodby 2013 season

Jets will go 3-1 over the first 4 weeks with Geno at the helm. Book it.
