I haven't heard many people talk about Barton, but outside of that play on Brees in the playoff game he was such an integral part of our defense. How is his recovery going and how is he going to fit in to the 3-4 defense? As of right now I see our LB's this way, Barton-Vilma-Kassel-Hobson...Is this going to be good enough for the 3-4??? I really like Barton and what he brings to the defense. It'll be interesting to see how everything works out

People talk like Barton's career is over or something. He tore his triceps, not that big of a deal. He'll be back and just as good as he was before. He could play ILB or OLB I don't think it would matter.

    Thomas-Vilma-Barton-Hobson?

I think it will be Hobson-Vilma-Kassell-Barton withThomas subing in for hobson to be a passrusher. Kassell is big enough to take on guards so he will play middle in 3-4

I don't think Hobson has the agility/speed to rush the passer from the outside in a 3-4 alignment. I do however think he could be a very good ILB. I believe we have alot of guys who aren't that athletic, but are good at shedding blocks and attacking the inside run.

I know it sounds nuts, but on passing downs when we have 4 LBs on the field... I'd like to see Vilma tee off on the QB from the OLB position.

I think Hobson will surprise a number of you this year. His growing pains are over and he has lots to prove

Barton made our defense less effective last year by a lot. He's a huge asset. I hope he returns to full form for sure.

Barton is my second favourite player on the team and besides that he will fully recover and make an impact, he was one of our better defensive players and has that mean streak which is needed to change the momentum of the game, I have no fear he will be an impact player this year

i feel hes highly underrated. i liked him in OAK. i think hes borderline pro-bowl talent to be honest. if our d-line can neutralize blockers at least .......

even if you disagree, hes still a good, solid player.
