I rarely get fired up about random columnists making lists, but with Harrison's career-ending injury, Dave Flemming at ESPN attempted to compile a new list of the leagues "Dirtiest Players." Eric Smith makes the list at #4....complete BS. 1. Adrian Wilson 2. Hines Ward 3. Richard Seymour 4. Eric Smith (tie) 4. Roy Williams (tie) Article: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=fleming/081029 Let's light this guy's email up: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=mailform/fleming
HAHAHAHAHa thats awesome. His one tackle that connects with a WR and he is a dirty player. Yeah, where is Wllfork or Rodney Harrison?? Wait, this is Page 2 from ESPN??? This should not be taken seriously. Those writers don't watch football.
IM IN! This is some dumb ass shit. How does one hit that was the product of bad timing and bad luck, get him a spot on the DIRTIEST PLAYERS in the league list? Maybe I missed something Dave, is Eric doing things like this all the time or was this just one isolated incident? Thought so...... Can anyone say Rodney Harrison, WTF?
I don't see where Eric Smith was listed as a dirty player in that article. They mention him, but I don't see an actual list, or reference that he was. What am I missing? EDIT: Disregard... I see it now. From what I can see they are suggesting he be on the list based on the amount of his fine that he received for the hit. I think it is bullshit, but whatever. He did get fined and suspended.
This is a joke of an article, but I dont see a ranked list like the post mentions calling out Eric as #4. Edit* Oh there it is. This guy is a Boob!
Eric Smith tried to make an effort to jar the ball lose on a meaningless play where the play was already dead due to the ball being in the end zone just to try and keep his job. But Boldin got pushed towards him and that turned a bad play into a terrible play. Obviously E. Smith didn't mean for all this to happen cuz he got knocked out on the play and no one tries to get knocked out. But does all this make him one of the dirtiest players? NO.
It makes me sick that Wilfork was not suspended after his FIFTH fine for hitting the QB. Someone is protecting some one here.
I ran into a Cardinals fan at my meetings last week. He was not happy about Mr. Eric Smith. I told him to watch the play again. I still don't believe Eric is a dirty player. I'd like to be right about that.
