I didn't get to see the draft on ESPN (my college doesn't get it on the cable they have), so we were forced to watch it on the NFL Network. I'm not sure if any of you did, but the coverage on NFL Network was really bad. It's good to see the ESPN guys goin' at it.

I like the analysis that they had. The NFL Network guys had very little to none.

Thanks for sharing. I know there were a few people here who were interested in what Jaws had to say about Clemens.

But the coverage was awful. The would talk about one pick for a half hour, while neglecting to tell us what picks happened, or what trades took place, or the compensation for the trades. The ESPN analysis was much better for up to the minute updates.

I skipped the ESPN coverage just so I wouldn't have to listen to Kiper. That's one thing the NFL Network has going for it

No it wasn't bro. Did you actually see the ESPN analysis? We frequently had no clue what trades happened until 10-20 minutes later at the earliest. Most of us jumped onto this site to look for what happened. For actual picks, I used Yahoo a lot too. I didn't see great analysis either on ESPN for most picks. I don't know what NFL Network did, but it'd be hard for them to have been worse.

Exactly. I was getting more info off of TGG than ESPN. Whenever a pick changed hands, there was no explanation from ESPN until later on. Sometimes they just went to a commercial leaving you wondering what just happened.

Like I said before, I could not see the ESPN coverage, but I have in years past.

I found myself paying more attention to the Yahoo sports draft tracker than the TV.

ESPN was late with trade breakdowns all weekend. NFL Network seemed to be more informative IMO.

I feel like such an idiot, if you look at the clip again and when they show the fan reaction. I am the guy turned around with Vilma 51 on the back of a shirt

Having watched both channels, I agree that ESPN was late with trade breakdowns all weekend. At times I ran to this site while cursing ESPN for ignoring the trades. Gee let's talk about Billy's hard upbringing instead of telling you about why the Jets are no longer on the clock but didn't pick anyone! Hello?? How many people were sitting on the set and not one wanted to tell us about the trades? Very frustrating.

Everyone was hating on Mike Mayock ALL this offseason...and he was the fuckin man at the draft. He actually called the Donte Whitner selection at 8.
