eric always talks about flexibility, but we on the board always argue about 3-4/4-3 but if we keep drob (restructure) and draft gholston we can easily switch back and forth from 3-4 to 4-3 we have enough depth to play both ways (assuming we get the LB) ellis, jenkins, drob, coleman thomas harris gholston is a nice enough 4-3 unit our d will be able to really disguise and screw with the opposing OC im starting to get too optimistic, i better get a hold of myself
When he talks about flexibility, I think he means that a lot of different players will see the field playing within this 3-4 system.
yeah, i was thinking about this too. if we line up with 4 down linemen, Jenkins and D-Rob in the middle would be extremely tough to contain.
gholston and thomas really aren't 4-3 type linebackers. I like where your head is at, but we would probably put Barton at OLB in a 4-3 type scheme for this team. Also Coleman is more of a DT in the 4-3.
Actually what the NYJs are running is a 3-4 / 4-3 hybrid. I think this is why EM talks a lot about flexibility. He doesn't want the offense to know what in the hell we are doing any time of day or night.
Ok... Say we did keep Robertson, and once in a while we went with the 4-3... Neither Ellis or Coleman is really a speed rusher and thats what you need in the 4-3... So... I line up Barton as my ROLB, Harris as my ILB, and Hobson as my LOLB So... Barton-Harris-Hobson Gholston-Robertson-Jenkins-Ellis as the 4-3 3-4 would be... Hmm... (This is IF WE KEEP Robertson) Thomas-Barton-Harris-Gholston Robertson-Jenkins-Ellis
this is what im talking about, we watch the jets every week and are trying to figue it out. imagine the other teams OC a lot of combinations
The more confusing it gets, the better it is. Just remember, here we are 4-12 and in the second game Brady didn't even score a single touchdown. He was "mushed" to death...
