Here are some possible free agents to help shape up the jets for next season, Personally i think Cotch has earned his place as a premiere receiver on this team but for all of you who think we need a better 1 slot reciever take a look From NFL.com Bennett, Drew WR Released 6-5 196 8th SeasonSTL TBD Bodiford, Shaun WR UFA 5-11 186 3rd SeasonGB TBD Booker, Marty WR Released 6-0 205 10th SeasonCHI TBD Burress, PlaxicoWR Released 6-5 232 9th SeasonNYG TBD Carter, Drew WR UFA 6-3 200 5th Season OAK TBD Carter, Jason WR UFA 6-0 205 2nd Season CAR TBD Colbert, Keary WR UFA 6-1 205 5th Season DET TBD Franklin, William WR Released 6-0 209 2nd Season KC TBD Furrey, Mike WR Released 6-0 195 5th Season DET TBD Hackett, D.J. I dont think we sign a QB. About 1/2 of those guys on WR list are better then brad smith so this list is to long
Acceptable WRs: Bennett -could be the RZ guy we need at 6-5...and cheap Jackson - A veteran guy with Coles's skill set: good hands, football fast for a fraction of the price Matt Jones - Everything we could want in a receiver including some substances we don't want. Sign him to an incentive laden contract=low risk-high reward. This is who the moose wants.
my opinion as of right now...if they wanna add a more reliable reciever from FA, thats fine with me, but we dont need it. If jones decides he doesnt want to be part of the jets anymore...which i doubt...we can use leon as lightning and shonn green as thunder, but better than ron dayne. OR we can find a tough starter from FA, a few real nice guys out there still Alexander, ShaunRBReleased 5-11 228 9th Season WAS TBD Barnes, Darian FB UFA 6-2 240 7th Season NO TBD Bell, Tatum RB UFA 5-11 213 5th Season DEN TBD Chatman, Jesse RB UFA 5-8 225 6th Season NYJ TBD Daniels, P.J. IF we sign a veteran QB which I doubt out of that list I would say Trent Green is the best. I wouldn't mind Toomer for a veteran WR signing either
Yeah, honestly i think the jets have a real nice team this year. Let rex work with them at camp and see if everything falls into place. whatever area the big man thinks we need some more talent in let him go get it
