"According to an AP report, the Jets will receive the 29th overall selection in the first round from the Falcons"

"The Associated Press reported Tuesday evening that the New York Jets have traded Pro Bowl defensive end John Abraham to the Atlanta Falcons in a three-way deal with Denver. According to the report, the Jets will receive the 29th overall selection in the first round from the Falcons. Atlanta originally obtained the 29th selection from Denver by swapping No. 1 picks, with the Broncos getting the 15th overall selection and the Falcons getting pick 29. The Falcons will also receive middle-round picks in 2006 and 2007 from Denver."

How come the article is saying "The AP reports that...." on the Jets site, when it's the Jets involved in the trade. Shouldn't it be that the JETS are reporting? I just find this stupid.

The trade has yet to be approved by the league, thus the team will say nothing...
