Jets currently have the 8th pick in the draft. Hopefully the Chiefs can take care of business today. Denver at Miami: Denver currently has the 4th pick in the draft and plays the Jets next week. They have a lower SOS than Jets, so with a win here they would still be ahead of the Jets. However, a win vs Miami sets the Jets up to pass Denver next week with a loss. 49ers at Bears: If the Bears win, the Jets can pass them. Chicago has a higher SOS than the Jets. Colts at Jaguars: Unlikely to happen, but you never know. Texans at Titans: Jets pass the Texans (Cleveland) if they win. Texans still play the 49ers and Colts to finish the year out. Eagles at Seahawks: Seakhawks play 3 games in a row against teams with winning records. If they miss the playoffs, their second rounder will be no higher than 20. The most likely outcome is the Jets lose and Bears win. Jets would move up to #7 with 4 weeks to go.
Great update. Unfortunately, unless we can break into the top 4, we are still in franchise quarterback hinterland. I can't see how we get to #4 without some resurgence from the Colts and...er...Geno Smith
Easiest path into top 4 is a Denver win today and vs Jets next week. Colts would need to beat Denver and then Houston in week 17. Jets are much better off with Denver behind them, so if Jets were 5th with Browns, 49ers, Giants and Colts it wouldnt be so bad. Two of those teams dont need qbs.
