Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams did it, I believe last year? Michael Vick and Warrick Dunn It usually never happens, but do you think there's a chance that we could have 2 thousand yard rushers on this squad? Granted we've seen what happens when we throw the ball and it's tempting more than ever with Sanchez playing well, but as the season progresses were going to have to be dominant at running the rock especially in December when it's cold as shit (Game in Pittsburgh an example) Or maybe 2 thousand yard rushers and 2 900 receiving WRs and a TE catching 15 TD in the year
It can happen but likely won't seeing as how our pass game will open up more and more as the year goes on.
the giants did it a few years back with ward and jacobs as well. matter of fact that was elis's best year at QB (21TDs only 10INTs) the panthers last year were the first to ever have 2 1100 yard rushers. i'm not sure what pace there on (i know LT is on pace but i odn't think greene is) would be nice to be the first team with 2 1200 yard backs. Also any chance LT makes the pro bowl this year as a jet?
Watch Woodhead kill it tonight. I love Rex, but he was wrong on Danny. Look, I'm not saying he's Jones-Drew, but he's sort of like Wayne (Chrebet); doubt and diss him as much as you want, but all he does is produce and continue to outperform other guys who have greater measurables but no heart. Meanwhile, we just cut Clowney (for whom we had cut Danny), and Chauncey Washington was picked up off the practice squad by some other team (Jaguars?). God forbid, if something happens to Shonn or L.T. we've got nothing. We'll be handing off the rock to T-Rich and the Terminator.
True. And can you imagine if something happens to Edwards, Holmes and Cotchery. We'd be fucked. Or even worse, God forbid Sanchez, Brunell, Clemens and Smith get hurt. We're really going to kick ourselves then for not keeping that 4th QB around.
That would be crazy but it won't happen now that Sanchez is playing legit, Greene also is looking slugish which is really bothering me, he looked frustrated yesterday after tripping up so many times especially when he was going to the Endzone with the big run and tripped. As long as we win games I really don't care what happens.
Why? Because our offensive line has shown it can't create holes in the running game? That we need a guy like Earl Campbell or Walter Payton to bowl people over on every play? L.T. doesn't run over people either. He makes people miss, and Danny has shown that he can do that. And he is a tougher runner despite his diminutive stature. It's possible that Woodhead's career is better served in NE, but even if that were true, it's beside the point. My original points stand.
I love it when people make decisions based on anticipated injuries. If Woodhead had been kept instead of Clowney, he'd be the one getting cut today for Holmes anyway.
It's not based on anticipated injuries. I don't know who we would cut to make room for him. All I'm saying is if it were me, I'd rather have Woodhead than a #4 TE who can't catch passes, who plays maybe 1 or 2 snaps a game and is a lesser special teams contributor than Mr. Chadron State.
It really takes a true curmudgeon to take a thread about our two excellent RBs (it's possible by the way, really just depends if Greene can use this game to jump start his season) and use it to bitch about an RB we don't have. That's impressive.
