Too heavy and his core is weak. This inhibits his cut back ability and stamina. Ive noticed at times his balance is poor, he falls from shoestring tackles and thats a direct result of him being overweight and his core being weak. Great backs have the ability to stumble and regain balance, it rare that Greene does that.

When you run square to the line of scrimmage and upright you wind up with leverage issues and people taking shots at your ribs because they're exposed.

Curtis Martin was the shiftiest back in tight that I've ever seen. He never gave tacklers a square angle to hit and he was always working the leverage to get himself to the ground safely. That's why he was the most effective back in history at avoiding fumbles and injuries after contact had occurred and multiple people had their hands, shoulders and helmets on him.

Shonne Greene is like the polar opposite. He runs square to the line of scrimmage and is frequently gang-tackled while in an upright position and with no leverage to get himself to the ground after contact. That's where the upper body injuries come from. He's cut down the fumbles a lot, probably as a direct function of the weight he's put on in the form of upper body strength.

Are you suggesting that he needs P90X?

Apparently Shonn Greene is the worst RB in the NFL.

Shonn Greene is what he is. He's not gonna try and dodge the tackle or run around the pile, he's gonna put his head down and run right through it lol....Thats why we need still need another back to split the carries

^I think Joe McKnight can be that guy. A platoon of Greene/McKnight with a little Tebow and maybe Powell mixed in will be fine assuming the OL is back to standard. That isn't a safe assumption with RT but I think Brick and Slauson will be vastly better after a humbling 2011.

Of course he is. He's a Jet and who better than Jets fan to under rate a good player on their team. Sanchez is terrible, Greene is terrible, Holmes is terrible, Keller is terrible. I swear most Jets fans are women the way they complain about things constantly. It's not like any of this is new. These same discussions have already happen dozens of times.

    Women???

Many women are blindly loyal to their husbands/boyfriends, no matter how bad their faults. Abused women who stay in bad relationships without a complaint.

Sounds like a certain kind of Jet fan around here. That would be of the blind homer variety.

Excellent assessment. Here you are on the money, dude.

Greene is no Curtis Martin, that's for sure. Yea, I know, not many even approach him.

This is ftr not to dump excessively on Greene. It is an argument for saying he needs a good deal of help, though. Especially if Ground and Pound is supposed to happen. And something tells me McKnight is not the answer.

I argue with Brad alot, but here he gets more than 95% of the credit for that one. I merely added the he needs help part.
