    Head Coach: Bill Cowher

    Defensive Cordinator: Ron Rivera
    Bears defense '06-'07

We have a great team but coaching is terrible. Bill Cowher retired because he wanted to get out of his contract. Let's get rid of Mangini.

Ron Rivera did not get along with Lovie Smith. He went on to assist Ted Cotrell on the Chargers. Replaced Cotrell due to firing.

Our team has the potential. This would be my move if I was GM.

Right now we should not be thinking about this because we are playing well but this popped into my head today. I think our team would be much better with this kind of change

Odd timing for this thread but there's some truth to it.

...we're 7-3...on top of our division, and you're talking about firing the coach.

    Get out of here.

Huh??? Is this thread a joke. Are we really in first place in week 11 and talking about replacing the coach. I'm so confused is this reality?? Ron Rivera...of the sad excuse for a charger D??? Bill Cowher who took like 19 years to win a SB in Pittsburgh easily costing them a few good chances before that because of poor coaching??

C'mon boys were better than this. Lets get behind our team AND OUR COACHES and focus on making a serious run at this thing.

Our team is doing well but we don't have the right coaches for this kind of system. We talking about the 3-4 defense. I rather have Rivera coach this defense. You seen what he did with the bears D back in '06. Oh, did you forget. C'mon dude, Mangini with his weird conservative pussy ass coaching. I'm tired of this "hush hush, lets try to outsmart the other team". Lets just out play the teams out there. We have the players to do so.

Aren't the players the personnel and the coaches the staff? And the Bears had a good D but they never ran a 3-4. I am going to stop right here because I refuse to let myself continue this conversation.

Mangini has a defensive background so its reasonable to expect that he was substantial input into the defense, he may well be the one ordering the prevent defenses that fans hate so much. It is much more likely that Schottenheimer is making the offensive calls, he's the one who has to go first.

The Jets are 7-3 and in first place in the AFC East. Eric Mangini is one of the best young coaches in the NFL. This thread sucks dick.

Agreed. While I can't stand the play calling sometimes, things have shaped up recently. Plus Mangini will only get better, he's still young and quite inexperienced.

i really really wouldnt go so far as to say one of the best young coaches in the nfl. yeah i really wouldnt go anywhere near so far as to say that.

however he is not going anywhere anytime soon, we are playing pretty well right now and unless there is a COMPLETE AND TOTAL MELTDOWN he will be around for a little while.

however i am in no way shape or form calling him best in any form. i happen to dislike him at this point and a couple wins doesnt change that.

I know its monday, but this is retarded pessimism.

    Thread is Fail.

Cowher has his ring, no coach has won a ring with 2 teams, so why bring him in?

Anyone who offers Cowher as an option is uninformed.

Rivera I love but he isn't coming here, he's staying in SD, and he's a 4-3 guy.

Get me a 3-4 specialist to trade ideas with Mangini. There isn't much left to fix with Mangini besides kicking the shit out of teams and not relaxing in the 3rd qtr, but I blame Sutton.

Why start this? There is a chance to beat Tennessee. OP is a no nothing.

Not that i'm loving the fact, but he's going to get it. Woddy loves this guy.

WTF more could you want from Mangini at this point we're in FIRST PLACE!!!!! Holy ^#%

If anybody should be exiled it's Bob Sutton for that horrendous 3man rush he loves to throw out there with the game on the line.
