I don't see Buffalo winning more than 3 games. Nor do I see the Dolphins winning more than 8. As for the Jets, I'm not sure what to think. A healthy and productive Chad Pennington could completely change my outlook for them. Without him, I'm afraid it could be a year or two. For the sake of pride, at least keep the Bills down in the basement.

As far as the Patriots go, this is the first reasonable schedule they've faced in more than 3 years. I'm predicting 12-4 which won't get them home field.

I think everyone will win 8 games and go 3-3 in the division, all divisional games won by the home team.

you must be a pats fan cuz there's no way that happens...

The bills I agree with you on..but 4-12 seems better.

Jets I don't know what to think either...could be 5-11 and could be 9-7. 7-9 is my prediction though.

The Dolphins were the hottest team at the end of last year...they got better in the offseason....they should battle for the #2 seed in the afc imo. 11-5 or 12-4... division winners

The pats lost a few good guys and didnt do anything besides the draft to improve the team. The dynasty is finally over but I do expect them to sneak in the playoffs as the 6th seed (10-6)

Not gonna happen. I agree they lost some key players like McGinest but their schedule is an absolute joke. No way they don't win at least 10 games. The Dolphins are WAY overrated. NE will take both regular season games from them. I'm very curious to follow Mangini. I wish him well.

    1. Miami Dolphins
    2. New England Patriots
    3. New York Jets
    4. Buffalo Bills

The Patriots have been slowly falling apart over the last two years, and it's going to show big time in 2006. I think losing K A. Vinatieri is going to be a major blow to their chances this year. You may think that's petty, but AV won more close games for the Pats than any other previously departed player over the years. He will be missed when those close games are on the line....

Let's not forget all the coaching departures the Patriots have experienced over the last couple of seasons either. I know how great BB is, and I highly respect him as a coach, but he can't do it all by himself....

On the flip-side, Miami has done nothing but improve this off-season. Not being a homer, just stating the facts. The Patriots may have a slight lead in this race right now, but the Phinz are eating up their rear view mirror fast....

idk, I think the dolphins are being underrated, idk how that guy said they're overrated. everybody still thinks the patriots are like the 98 broncos or the bears of the 80s

Yes, that and the Patriots making a mockery of that game by trying hard to lose, and almost winning by accident.

why do you think the pats wanted to lose?.... i'm sure people thought that, but teams dont honestly try to lose....not even the game that was considered the "bush bowl" in week 17

Gee, I don't know, maybe that they were playing their third string for everything after the first quarter. Perhaps letting that third string quarterback take over - a kid who hadn't played a quarter of football since high school.

    A dropkick? A friggin dropkick??!!!!!

Nawwwww. . . you're right. They were playing their hearts out.

well you make a good case....but even if the patriots were better on that day, you can't tell me after this offseason that the dolphins cant beat the pats this year

New England has to be the clear favorite going into the season. Of course, if things break bad for the Pats and things break right for the Dolphins I can see them challenging them, but I don't think that's likely. The Dolphins could just as easily be battling it out with the Jets and Bills to stay out of the cellar.

The Pats will win the division easily and the Dolphins will be the biggest disappointment.

    Pats 10-6
    Jets - 7-9
    Dolphins 7-9
    Bills 4-12

How can the Dolphins have a great offseason and suddenly be worse?

Jets and Bills are going to be non-factors for the AFCE. I'd give the edge to the Pats between them and the Fins, but IF the Culpepper thing actually pans out I think they will push the Pats pretty hard for the division. The thing about the Pats is they have been covering holes with a box of band-aids for the last 3 years... I think they may be a little short on band-aids this year, but they won't be on holes.

How did the Dolphins get better?

They traded for Daunte Culpepper, a guy who shredded all 3 ligaments in his knee only AFTER showing that he was completely reading a defense without Randy Moss on the field drawing all the coverage. Daunte was the worst QB in the NFL last season before his injury. Yes the worst, Pennington was bad - but at least he had a dead arm to blame, Carr was bad but at least he had no offensive line and a shitty coach to blame... but Daunte had no excuses. Daunte minus Randy = Turnover after turnover. Until Daunte proves he can 1.) run on his bad knee and 2.) read a defense, I don't believe the hype.

They also acquired the much maligned Joey Harrington, uh-oh, we are in deep doo-doo. I live in the mid-west and have the pleasure of watching alot of Bears games. Joey would singled handedly lose game after game when faced with the pressures of stepping up and winning a big intra-division rivalry game. He cracks under pressure.

They lost half of their rushing attack in Ricky Williams, say what you will about Ricky W.... but until I see Ronnie Brown take 300+ carries I am not just going to assume he will be the stud everyone is assuming he is.

The great secondary that Miami was always known for is gone, split up amongst other teams throughout the league. I cannot even tell you who their CBs are now.

How old is Zach Thomas, like 50?

Jason Taylor is still good, but one pro-bowler does not give you a great defense (see: Vilma and the Jets in 2005!)

So, I ask WHY? is everyone predicting such greatness from the Dolphins this year? Most of their new acquisitions are delinquents - almost the anti-Mangini players - how is this going to make them such a great team?

Saban went out and brought in incouragable personalities and he is being praised for it. Typical media catering the the primadonnas and criminals, or at least the idiots you don't want your kids idolizing.
