Off topic, but that is actually (almost) a very well-known quote by W. Edwards Deming, the father of postwar quality control. What he actually said was "In God we trust; all others must bring data." Deming was the guy who turned around Japanese industry after World War II, and eventually got U.S. businesses to listen after they were virtually put out of business. I knew him a little bit for the last 13 years of his life, before he died in 1993 at the age of 93.
Third pick. As in another one in addition to the 2 picks the Jets were already offering. Not third round pick.
That was an awesome read. Kudos to the writer. And I guess we now know the official moment the "Same Old Jets" died.
What a great article.. I could feel myself getting jittery as it went on, even though I knew the Jets eventually came out with Sanchez.
For last three years of drafts, we ended up with Sanchez, Greene, Keller, Revis and Harris. These are god damn good players, they should be the cornstones of our team for years to come... I know there is always a ghost. Even without pointing fingers at Mangina, I would give top mark to our FO. I live in Boston. I can hear Pats fans whining everyday...In the same peroid, they only got Jarod Mayo, who hasn't been good this year. I won't trade any of above players for him anyway. And, I don't even bother to mention all players we traded and signed as FAs. Tanny is the MAN!
Interesting to me that Mangini wasn't crazy to acquire Ratliff like a lot of us assumed, rather that he was a late addition to the deal.
