How will the draft make next year any better than last?

The way im looking at it is we replaced Fabini and Mawae with D'Brick and Mangold. They arent going to be better than those 2, not at least at first. So why was our terrible OL from last year going to be any better now?

Because Mawae and Fabini were injured. Now we have two young healthy players who were the top two blockers in the draft. This year maybe our QB won't get injured every game.

thank for reminding me about that. I forgot that besides chad we had a ton of other injuries. Now i feel stupid, but also feel alot better about our chances to improve next year. ESPECIALLY if Chad is back to close to what he was and stays healthy.

I am starting to think we should realize this year will not be a great year for us (learning two new systems, still have some needs to address) and we should start Ramsey for a few games at first to give Chad some extra healing time while he mentors Clemens all year. Maybe put in Chad in garbage time at game 3 and then if he does ok have Ramsey as a backup.

IMO Clemens should be groomed for the NFL. HE should deffinately not be thrown into the lions den this year with the team the way it is. Sacrifice Chad and Ramsey (maybe have Billinger compete with Ramsey for the Second spot?) Have Clemens learn, thats it.

I think an empty spot along our offensive line would be more productive than Fabini. Mawae was awful, then injured last year, so it would be hard for Mangold as a rookie to be worse.

Fabini and Mawae were past their prime last year, even when they were healthy

Apparently you've forgotten just how bad Fabini was even before 2005. He'll be riding Texas pine by Week 5.

Not having Kendall play center is an automatic upgrade. He never could establish proper blocks after making the snap.
