One loss and people are saying rhodes is overrated, talking about who to draft, fearing the dolphins, playoffs pictures looking bleek, we have no #1 receiver, blah blah blah.... one loss and people are losing their minds....one convincing win and people will shift again... can you people please make up your minds...
sad ain't it??? Not very strong minds here. I have friends who are fans of other teams, they don't act like this when they face adversity.
lets put it in perspective...this team lost a game...a bad loss yes...but they are still in first place....its not like there is a tremendous amount of adversity...dallas this year...thats adversity...philadelphia, thats adversity...NEW ENGLAND thats adversity this year....MIAMI...adversity... but the jets this year? what adversity are we facing heading into this week in all reality?
If anything i think this loss may be a blessing in disguise, just like the Oakland game was at the beginning of the season before we rolled out 5 straight. I now doubt we will ever be as unprepared or cocky as we were vs. Denver. If anything this will motivate us and its the exact time of year to get back on track and treat every game like the pats game or titans game. I'm with you its time to step it up and get hot again and unlike most think this is not the same old jets, mark my words.
my friends are Cowboys fans and when Romo went down they were upset but the knew their season wasn't over, they knew 1-2 with him gone would set that team up to run the table and they are doing that right now. They were confident in their team when they faced adversity. We would have shit the bed and tossed the season out the window. There is no adversity accept not coming out and beating the fuck out of these next 4 teams that are no where as talented as the Jets.
The overreaction around here is definitely strong, but to be fair we did look like ass out there Sunday. If we had a decent secondary, I'd feel a whole lot better about our post-season prospects.
for the most part i find the panicking to be funny. this is what people do. they overreact to things. the people who had us in the superbowl after the titans game overreacted and the people who have the team now not making the playoffs are overreacting. i think most normal people are just taking the ride and seeing where the season ends up going. at least thats what all of my other jet fan friends who dont post on tgg are doing.
Yeah it's sad. And it's 90% of the people on this site too. To be fair, though, I think most sports forums on the web are like this. There's very few that have a majority of level-headed posters on it.
Eric Mangini, Brian Schottenheimer, and Bob Sutton. These names do not inspire fear in the opposition or confidence among the loyal.
