The Eagles have an obsession for drafting lineman, and the last two years they've made DTs their first pick. The addition of Mike Patterson and Bunkley this year has given the Birds a deep crop of DT talent.

At the same time, the loss of TO, the continuing injury problems of Todd Pinkston, and the mediocre performance of FA pick-up Jabar Gaffney (sorry Derrick), have the Eagles offense clipped. Right now, their #2 WR is free agent pick-up Hank Baskett.

Time to mine down the Turnpike.

Well, Bradway was at their preseason game last week I believe. That's probably what he was scouting.

what dt on philly's roster besides patterson and bunkley, who are not going anywhere, is good enough or BIG enough? trading with them would be stupid

we need to sign grady and be done with this so we can focus on acquiring a rb who can play at a high level

    Who? Barlow? Duckett?

Bleh... I'd rather we play with the combination or mediocore backs we have now all year and get a good evaluation of what we have. We're not going to be winning a lot of games this year and it's going to take some time for the OL to gel. I say rebuild with what we have and then draft/sign a RB next year once our prospects (hopefully) look better.

1M this year dead cash, and a 3M dead cash hit in 2007. That's what McCareins would do if dealt. This year, we'd save a little over 1M, but next year we'd be saddled down with 3M

who cares, after last offseason the cap should just not be discussed on here. As for the thread topic, I would hold onto JMac & wait for one of Phillys Dts to be released, which is bound to happen.

why does everyone think J Mac has any value? He just got demoted on our offense with ZERO playmakers. He is a bum, and if anyone has intrest in him, all they have to do is wait till we release him in a few weeks. And yes he will be released.-opinion.

The cap should not be discussed? This still is the NFL, you realize it still has a cap, right?

Ji2K4... how is our cap looking for next season? I know McCareins would be a huge blow to our cap next season, but how badly would it be a blow? Would we be only $15 million over the cap then, or $200,000?

I ask because the Eagles have a few players we could possibly trade for... hell, we could send our underachieving never healthy WR to Philly for their underachieving never healthy RB who is probably better than anyone available at RB right now (Correll Buckhalter).

& they would manage the cap if they did make a trade like that.

Our cap number stinks for next year with the likely HUGE cap hit we'll take on the moronic contracts Dumbway gave to Martin and Chad.

As far as McCareins is concerned, if we deal him we have the option to take the entire hit (4M, which would be a net 1.8M hit) now or we can take a 1.2M savings in 2006 but the 3M hit in 2007....
