If Houston somehow decides to take Williams over Bush, there's a chance Reggie will slip past both New Orleans and Tennessee, I guess that Jets would jump all over #5...right?
Yeah they would, but there's a better chance of having a snowball fight in the 7th level of Dante's Inferno.
The Jets would sprint to the podium to select Bush with the 4th pick. That would be the shocker of the draft if Bush were to fall that far.
Aint gonna happen. I'll be surprised if Leinhart falls to #4. Who knows, we still may trade down ( I hope ) a spot or two and grab Cutler PLUS more picks. I can dream, can't I?
If Bush isn't the first pick then the Saints will get a trade offer they cant refuse and someone else will get the Bush at 2nd. With all the holes they have, they could slide down a notch or two and plug some holes with much better players than they'd be offer if they were trying to trade away the rights to pick whoever goes 2nd after Bush IS taken.
I wouldn't really be surprised if Leinhart fell to number four. I guess, considering there is no freaking Leinhart in the draft.
the only team NO might be interested in trading with would be SF maybe OAK, they don't want to drop to far, problem is they drop out of the top 5, they probably can't get who they want (hawk, williams, or ferguson in that order, though they'd probably take williams or ferguson over hawk at #2 just because of their positions)
It is a stupid thing to even talk about because its just not going to happen-even if the Texans did pass on Bush, the Saints would trade there pick and maybe that would be how we would get Bush, but hes not falling to #4
OK it's LEINART.... I love the newbie children here who LOVE to be the spelling police. I could toss dubious accolades at some of your posts but I choose not to engage in bashing fellow JETS fans. ITrust me buddy; when you find a girl in your life, posts on this board ( and the occassional human error that takes place everyday of our lives ) wil seem trival. :breakdance:  hmy: :jets: :shit:
If Bush falls to 2, which is doubtful, I see a strong chance that the Jets trade to 2 to get him. Impossible that he falls to 4.
Meaning there'd be a pretty good chance he'd end up falling to 4 because NO can't take him unless they are retarded and want to kill that franchise with a QB who may be worse off than Pennington at the moment, a huge contract tied up with a great RB who should be back to normal this season, and now your going to go with another RB...that team needs major help in areas outside of RB (like houston thats one spot they are fairly set in, except they are way more set there than houston) tennessee has a handful of money tied up in RB's, and has a few above average ones, that team has a ton of needs and with McNair possibly going to be released, they definitely need a QB (and the coaches are pushing hard for Leinart) based on what houston does, theres a realistic chance he COULD (not WILL) fall to #4...so if they take williams, we dont necessarily have to trade up
Lets be realistic, the reports are saying that Houston is taking Super Mario. If this happens one needs to look at it this way. New Orleans will trade the #2 pick but the guy they want is Hawk. Green Bay at #5 will take Hawk if he is on the board when they pick. New Orleans will need to make a trade with either the Jets or Titans if they want Hawk. I don't see the Titans making a deal because they need a QB as opposed to a RB. If Bush was at 3 I see the Titans taking him but I don't see them trading up to nab Bush. That leaves us as the only team likely to trade up to nabe Bush.
Berman: With reggie bush still on the board the new york jets come sprinting to the podium......The jets are screaming for reggie bush! Paul tagliabue: with the fourth overall pick in the nfl draft the new york jets select (pause) Punter.... Matt malone Usc....
