With the chargers and ravens playin as hot as they are they will most likely take the top two spots in the afc. Then indianapolis and new england will take the other two divisions. So, if we are able to sneak into a wild card spot, i don't think that they match up teams in the same division and we would probably end up playing the colts. How do you all feel about a rematch with indy and do you think we would be able to take them down in the playoffs.

Rather face Indy than New England.

I'd love to go head-to-head with any of them. It would be nothing but a positive experience for this team to get some playoff time this year and would carry over real well into next year, no matter what the outcome.

    Bring 'em on, baby!

I agree. If we can make a run and make the playoffs I won't care who we face. I will be so happy to be that far that I will just love watching this team attempt to survive.

Years ago, they did not match up teams in the same division.. this was true. It's not anymore. It's strickly by seeding, and odds have it we'd play the Colts because of the 3/6 matchup.

Jets have already proven that they can beat NE in NE, and would have no problem doing it again. The Colts would also be a great team to play with their recent playoff history, and with our improved D since we last played, jets win.

Jets just gotta get in. Anything can happen in the playoffs.
This is OUR year. GO JETS!

You know that is what is so GREAT about this season, no matter what happens from now on. We were expected to be awful, yet we came out, proved we had a coach and a QB (though some still doubt him) and two good RB that make a good duo, a defense, and a good team. Even if we make the playoffs and lose first round, it doesn't matter, we had a GREAT SEASON!!!!

P.S. I made a bet with a fried that we would be 6-10. He said we would be 8-8. I was so confident I bet him I would kiss his nasty snagglenail feet, and he bet 50 $. Oh boy now I gotta kiss his feet!?!

It seems everyone’s defense is in the dog house right now, so I feel well about playing any team including the San Diego chargers. We will have to go balls out to hang with teams like this and I think we can do it.

I would love nothing more than to get a wildcard, go into NE and knock teh Pats out of the playoffs.

The Colts of late are not who everyone thought they were, but Peyton Manning is still capable of tearing a secondary to ribbons. Still, they're quite porous, so the idea would be to keep Manning off the field and keep moving the chains.

Personally, I would also be in heaven if we made it to the post season and knocked the Pats off. I live in Boston. That would just about do it for me, aside from a SB lol. If that were to happen I would have to pack up the wife and head back to NY to watch the game at a local pub with her. That way we could be around the best fans in the land for that great win:p

The way I look at it, the more games we play the more we get to look at our existing talent. This would make decisions in the off-season easier... who to keep, who to discard... who we need to draft... who we need to acquire, etc.

I have nothing but immense confidence in this CS now... right down to Mike Westhoff (what a stroke of genius it was to keep this guy). This team is only going to get better.

The really scary thing about all this is how much improvement we're seeing in such a relatively short period of time. No one would have imagined 8-6 no matter how "easy" the schedule (this is up for debate too, IMO, because the NFL changes from week to week almost). But the scary thing for me is thinking about how quickly this coaching staff has turned things around and then projecting it out to next year... it's almost like... well, dare I say... anything's possible?

A Colts win puts them at 11-3 with the Ravens.

Who owns the tiebreaker and #2 seed and why?

I just want to make the playoffs first................then I really don't care who it is that we play............just win.

Remember, currently 10-6 is not a lock that we are in.

I know this is just for discussion and thats what the forum is about. And, I don't mind sounding like a broken record when I say, until we play the games, I'm not picking my team to lose any game to any team no matter what their record or who they have on their team.

    ANY GIVEN SUNDAY !! BWOY!!

As it is hypothetical, I'd rather play the Pats. Mangini vs. Belicheck. It would just be a great game(hopefully)

I dont think the Colts wind up with a better record than the Pats...I think Indy will finish 11-5 and the Pats 12-4

If you make the playoffs anything can happen. This happened in 04 when no one thought the Jets ahd any shot against SD then vs Pitt the following week.

Like i said in another thread, I see Indy as the weakest team in the top four seeds. NE you could possibly say are worse but they're always very tough in the playoffs, last year they were very injured as well but still played very well. Indy have been known for choking in the playoffs

I agree. NE would be fired up for us a second time around and Belicheck would pull out all the stops to make sure Mangini doesn't embarass him again. I think we could beat the Colts. Our D is much better then when we first played them and their defense doesn't scare me at all. Plus Chad in a dome seems to be a good combo. With him and a much improved running game we can put up some points and as long as the defense makes a few key stops we could pull out a W. Plus with Mangnini we would have a big coaching advantage over Dungy.
