In seasons when the Jets play the NFC East there have been some bad seasons

Either the team isn't good or they suffer a serious injury or injuries whatever.

1-15 in 1996, lost Vinny in week 1 in 1999, Pennington broke his wrist in the preseason against the Giants in 2003, 2007, the Cruz play on Christmas Eve and Holmes locker room cancer in 2011.

    This year feels much different.

The Jets are coming in off a strong offseason. Richardson is out for a while they're still loaded on the d-line. Smith is out for a while they still have Decker, Amaro, Marshall, Kerley. It feels like a TEAM again a good one.

I think we'll beat the Eagles for the first time ever this season and the Jets match up good with the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys.

Overall I doubt the Jets have one of those types of seasons.

    We'll see.:)

Well isn't this a cheery way to start the day. Of course, this franchise can point to a lot of crappy seasons no matter what division we are up against, so perhaps that will make people feel better about our chances? Uh. Never mind. I guess that isn't helping.

Yeah, I agree. Should be an upbeat season. Still, that history sucks. Haha.

I was actually thinking about this quite a bit heading into the 2011 season. Hope we can break the cycle this year.

I've never seen us beat the Giants, so that'd be cool.

Also, it would be suck to lose to Tebow again. We must beat the Eagles too.

It wasn't meant to be a negative post.

I know and I'm sorry if it came off as an attack on you. It just saddened me, that's all, because 80% of this team's history is negative. Ask Champ and he'll tell you that number is 98% - 54/55 seasons without a Championship. God I want to win.

Beat the Giants in 1981 and 1988. Made the playoffs in '81 for first time in 12 years. Knocked the Giants out of the playoffs in '88 and finished 8-7-1 so it hasn't been all bad. The team we need to finaly beat is Philadelphia. We're 0-9!!!

Don't be such a pessimist. You've seen Vernon Gholston lay out David Carr in what is possibly the only QB hit of his entire career. That's better than a win vs the Giants.

I like our chances this year against them....Everyones making the expectations for there offense to big to live up to....But even if there offense is as good as people are hoping our defense will shut them down one way or the other....Id love to see a blow out for once Jets 42- Giants 10 that would be nice for once
