So after the Broncos beat the Patriots in overtime, NFL GameDay was talking about how Brady has NEVER lost in overtime until now. Extremely impressive stat and it's really crazy that Kyle Orton was the one to do it. Anyway the point of this post is: Now that NFL poster-boy Brady has lost in overtime, what are the chances that the overtime rules change?
Today I experienced a Patriot fan on a whole new whiny level. After blaming the loss on the fact that the patriots couldn't choose the right side of the coin, to which I replied that the Patriots had been held by the Broncos for the entire second half, he proceeded to complain about how nobody gets on peyton manning when he gets roughing the passer called for him. He whined about whining.
Right... because no Jets fans whine about stuff. Ever. Anyway, on topic... It was a good OT run for Brady and the Pats but eventually it had to come to an end. They had more than enough chances to pull away in the second half, but it was a lot like week two when the Jets came out in the 3rd and just took over the game. NE couldn't seem to move the ball in the second half, which is disconcerting at best. I think offensively, Belichick is really missing McDaniels' input and play calling. Either way they need to score more points as the defense figures itself out. I don't think anyone anticipated the offense sputtering the way it has, even with Brady out for a year.
Actually, Brady needs to throw the ball better downfield. If he hits Moss or Welker wide open deep and the game is over. The defense isn't great, but much better early than I had anticipated really.
