I do not want anyone to think I am one of those "Chad is a noodled-armed pussy who id no good because he can't throw a ball 60 yards" guys. I am just a realist who understand that he is a top tier, elite QB in this league that uses his accuracy. touch, timing, and smarts to win. When I look around the league, Chad's abilities, except for arm strength, are among the top in the league. I should throw compsure in the mix there as well..... But, realistically, of all starting QBs in the league, does Chad have the least guns?
Well that would depend on how much of a redneck he and other qbs in the league are. He's probably got a decent amount on the rack.
I think if anyone would compete with chad for that title it would be Brunell. Brad johnson doesn't exactly have a cannon either.
He is a starting quarterback in the NFL. His arm strength must not be too bad. As for starters in the NFL, he is probably in the bottom 10. As posted in the first post, arm strength isn't much of Penny's game anyway.
I don't know if it really matters how strong Chad's arm is when he throws about 1000 screen passes a game.
Brunell has a stronger arm, without a doubt. Not that he is close to the QB Chad is, but he's got a much stronger arm.
Is passer rating even an issue....is completion percentage an issue...Vick has a strong arm, how are his stats?
Who cares? Have we been winning with him? To me that's the most important thing. BTW - Simms didn't have the strongest arm and he won a Super Bowl.
Posts like this prove who watches the games. Not every pass by the way has to be a 50 yard bomb..You want that, be a Colts fan.
He can throw it 60 yards in the air...remember san diego playoff game? That bomb to Moss was 60 yards IN THE AIR! Not to mention one of the most perfect passes ever!
too many people are overreacting about this thread. i thought the disclaimer the poster made was pretty clear; he said Chad is a very good QB, but he was wondering how his arm strength compared to the rest of the NFL's starters. it's not about whether or not we win with him or if he gets the job done -- that's obvious. anyone care to make a list of the starting QB's and we'll see where Chad's arm ranks compared to them? cheers
