Here's a little trip down the memory lane: QUARTERBACKS D Coach–QB ERA AT DEFINING POINT QUATERBACK SHRUGS OFF 44.9 QB RATING How do a professional quarterback and tight end look so completely out of synch… PLAIN AND SIMPLE, HE LEFT 'EM WITH NO CHANCE If ever there was a time for Quaterback to be pulled from a game, it was in the fourth quarter of yesterday's… A couple of observations about this latest frenzy here. 1. Yahoo-s, wahoo-s, depressed jets and the rest.... I am getting a distinct impression that you were not just hoping, but actively rooting against the Jets just so that you could start this endless chain of new topics, all seem to be written by the same hand. When I see ppl with 200-300 total posts over 5-7 years all of a sudden coming out in droves & posting virtually the same shit, I can't help but wonder if there is alternative motives. And no, it's not that you're doubting Jets. BigBlocker for example does it all the time, but just by reading his posts, you know that he is Jets fan. I think BB's darkness is excessive, but I'd never doubt that he is a Jets fan. The YAHOOs, on the other hand are leaving impression of hating my team and wanting them to fail. 2. Can anyone here honestly say they expected us to beat 49ers? Let me put it this way: any participant in the TGG pool who picked Jets to win -- raise your hands! How many.. 1-2, maybe 3? How about beating HOU, any takers? The point is these 2 games were marked as "L" for a long time. However ugly this loss was (and holy shit, was it ugly!!!) it's still one "L", no style points, remember? Here's what I'm planning to do. 1. Watch Jets lose to HOU next week. 2. Give them another week to re-group. 3. Expect a win against IND. In my book, the "sky falling down" test is IND game, not earlier & not later.
It's one thing to be 2-2. I think most realistic fans would've expected that. Same goes for 2-3. But it's quite another to need two missed field goals to beat Miami and look as awful as they did yesterday. Factor in all the injuries and there's not a lot to be hopefully about.
The Giants had a clue though. This Jet's FO is just a clueless mess at this point. And BTW I don't think we're headed for a collapse this season but we're also not going to the Super Bowl. The Jets have put all their eggs on the offensive side of the ball into the QB and a #2 WR. The rookie is just going to take awhile to develop into anything assuming he does.
I agree. Also, I just think most ppl are having meltdowns since it's not easy sitting in the stands, rooting for a race car driver and hoping he's gonna do well - just to watch him for a full race, not even being able to find the fucking door handle. But as you said, let's see where we're at after the halfway marker of the season and the schedule is never grimmer than it is atm too. And in Rex I trust. Tanny is a different story.
I do tend to agree though I can see both sides. On the positive side: I had already circled this one as a loss, not as catastrophic of a loss but a loss nonetheless. I still think we can get to 4-4 by the bye week and if we can do that we can still end up maybe 9-7 and squeak into the playoffs. Probably get destroyed in the first game but, hey, you never know. Giants squeaked into the playoffs last year and won the SB (and no, that isn't a "I believe the Jets will win the SB" post). On the negative side: It's not that they did lose it's how they lost. They were terrible in almost every conceivable way. Plus we're now without Revis and might miss Holmes for some time too. The offense was already bad as it was but without Holmes and maybe without Hill and still without Keller we're dead in the water.
Just to point out, the same string of injuries was true for the Giants, both time they won SB. And no, I'm not saying Jets are SB or even playoff-bound. My point is that ppl here are overreacting. Things are never as bad or as good as they look based on one game.
I expect a competitive team. I expect to win more than we lose. I expect a gameplan with a QB to lead that plan. I expect more than 2 yds when we run. I expect a HC ballsy enough to play the best players to win a game. So far we are coming up snake eyes. Make a change and get this on track. So: Demote Sad Sack Cut Keller Sign a vet WR That's not too much to ask is it? Go Jets
If you cannot beat the best then why even compete since even if you make the post season you will then be playing teams like Hout, NE, Balt & Pitt & maybe even Den who seems to be cooking now with Peyton?
Really??? This is just NY Post. There were also Daily News, Times. Kay at ESPN was openly asking if it's time to let Eli go. I personally argued with Giants fans at work who wanted to dump Eli for the backup. Bullshit. Eli was nobody at that time, just a 4th year QB prone to throwing INTs and with no record to brag about. Reminds you of someone?
This picture appeared on the front & back pages of all NY papers at the time. More to the point: I don't care about your opinion on the matter.
This is just stupid. If this were the case, the NFL should switch to a 2-team league: only participants in SB should compete, everyone else should just pack & stay home.
Can't you just please go away, old man? Your wholehearted negativity never brings anything to the table. It's 100% doom n' gloom and everyone but one team fails every season. Always the same post. You have NOTHING new to say? Then please. Go. Away. (Hey - I'll even up the ante on your logic: If we're all gonna die one day, what's the point of living?)
I can really see us beating Houston. Let be real here Houston has not been tested this year they have played, MIA,jac,den,Tenn... So we really don't how good the Texans really are. Plus I believe the Jets will be pissed from yesterday game and will be ready to play.
