I'm the biggest sunshiner there is. I fully believed we would be back to 2010 form this year and competing for the division. I believed Sanchez would have his best year out of the Schotty system and with only one diva receiver who needed the ball. I thought Rex would have this D back to 09 form with a lot of new young toys up front, upgrades a safety, and still the same solid core of DB's in the back. After the first 5 quarters I was believeing that more than ever and since then the rug got pulled out from beneath us.

This team does not do anything well. Not one thing. From drafting, to free agency, to game planning to performing on the field. Right now I see 4-5 wins and we will be starting with a new head coach next year and hopefully a new GM. We were so close two years ago I am pretty much in shock at how bad this team became over a two year period.

I'm a sunshiner, and even I don't see us beating Houston. Sorry.

So do I, but rooting for them to win & expecting them to win are 2 different things.

I disagree. MIA has excellent D; DEN is good with Manning throuwing and Tenn have been competitive too.
At this point we have to answer to HOU rushing, neither to HOU passing.
Meanwhile their D. will have a field day against our run & pass game.

I had the Jets beating Houston in my pre-season projections. What's changed since then? No Keller, the run game is worse than I thought it would be and the run defense is a joke.

How Rex Ryan put together a laughingstock run defense is beyond me. I guess it's all the emphasis on the cornerbacks.

Yesterday was a huge self-defeat. I think the game was not as bad as the score would indicate. Of course SF is a top notch team, but we had a chance to go into halftime 7-3, and instead it was 10-0. 6 turnovers?!?! You can only blame the turnovers on Ryan so much when the quarterback is just giving the ball away.

Yeah that Giants team lost to Greenbay week 2 at home 35-13 and then 5 months later went into Greenbay and squeeked out a win.

You people act like it is impossible to turn this around. THIS IS THE NFL!!!! Weve seen SO MANY teams turn it around so many times. How about the 2-4 Dolphins winning the Division in 08. Or how about the 2-3 Chargers winning 11 straight. Or how about the 6-6 Giants who just lost 4 straight and got blown out in New Orleans and won the Super Bowl?

The list goes on and on and on and on, so many teams have turned it around. We are 2-2 and in first place. Get out here you losers. If you are quitting then quit, Ill be watching the game next week, and I hope you people that have quit, DONT DARE turn your TV on please.

I was the one of the few the night of 45-3 sitting their and saying that the Jets could easily turn it around while everyone else jumped the fucking boat. That 45-3 game was just bad mental mistakes after mistakes.

Yesterday had we gone into the half 7-3 its a whole new ballgame. Next time we take the sack, thats the difference between being in that game and not being in that game. 1 FUCKING PLAY. If you guys dont think we can fix 1 fucking play then your lost.

After 45-3 I said go rewatch it, the game imploded on that 4th and 1, then a bad punt and it was 17-0. The next time the Jets didnt make those mistakes and it went much smoother. Im telling you, if we took that FG yesterday that game would have been close deep into the 4th.

    So what are the options?

    1. We win anywhere between 7-9 games (and 9 is being EXTREMELY hopeful that this team can turn it around) and we just barely mis the playoffs again, pick around 16 in the draft, miss elite talent, Tanny, Rex and Sanchez may all get a pass since it wasnt exactly a disaster year and buy themselves one more year... eventually prolonging the inevitable- cleaning house.

    2. We tank the year, winning between 3-6 games and it is a lot more apparent that big changes need to happen. Lets say Tanny is fired, which is THE most important thing at this point. He does not have a clue how to evaluate talent, and the only "strength" is his ability to deal with the cap which I think is even worse than his ability to evaluate talent because he had fucked us over with so many of his brilliant contracts. At this point, we draft high, get an elite talent like Jarvis Jones, Bark Mingo or even go QB and go Geno Smith.

IMO, option 1 is just prolonging the inevitable because this roster is NOT talented and has way too many holes for it to be a playoff contender, and option 2 just speeds up the process.

Sanchez had his first fumble of the year yesterday. Every error the Jets made was going to stand out more given the fact that every Jet was having a mediocre game or worse.

Look at Eli Manning through the first 4 games of 2007. He had Burress, Toomer and Shockey catching balls for him not Holmes, Kerley and Cumberland. He had Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw as the backs behind him.

He also had already given up the ball 8 times in 4 games and the Giants were 2-2. He was going to throw 20 interceptions that year while passing for 6.3 yards a pass. He was going to win the Super Bowl.

Of course he had real talent around him. Sanchez has got little to work with. He, BTW, has coughed up the ball 5 times in 4 games.

You might want to call Goddell and see if he can mark the Jets down for forfeit the rest of the season.

I remember a 45-3 drubbing, then a loss to Miami the following week - 10-6 - and everyone was ready to kill off the entire FO, Woody, Sanchez, etc etc etc.

This is no different. I want to see the stats at the bye week.

The Jets went 4-12 in 2005 and 2007. We all miss the fact that they were one of the worst teams in football during that three year span despite the playoff year in 2006, because we can't filter out all the noise that having Chad healthy in 2006 against a 4th place schedule and changing coaches after 2005 produced.

If this team collapses right now the next time they get up off the mat is likely to be 2015. That's just an ugly thing to live through as a fan.
